NIGHTMARES ON WAX x ADRIAN SHERWOOD
IN A SPACE OUTTA DUB
out now - colour vinyl, CD and streaming everywhere
Here’s George Evelyn aka DJ E.A.S.E. aka Nightmares On Wax holding his copy at the Royal Albert Hall last month. The original In A Space Outta Sound album was George’s homage to the sound system culture he grew up on, so it felt fitting to ask Adrian Sherwood to re-work 8 of the tracks into a dub LP. An inspired coming together of two producers with a deep respect for each other’s work.
In A Space Outta Dub sees the On-U Sound founder dismantle and rebuild the original recordings. The result sits within a rich lineage of dub reinterpretations, from No Protection by Massive Attack vs. Mad Professor, to Sherwood’s own reworks for Primal Scream, Panda Bear & Sonic Boom, and Spoon. Sherwood applies his signature FX-driven approach while introducing fresh overdubs from collaborators including Cyrus Richard (Horace Andy / Dub Asante Band) and Doug Wimbish (Tackhead / Living Color).
“The set proves to be something special for fans of both outfits. Those in the On-U camp will find an incredibly warm listen, that hits and sticks with seamless lush, languid groove from start to finish. Followers of NOW, though, will have their minds blown, since many of the tracks are totally transformed. Something you can only really appreciate if you know the OGs.” - Ban Ban Ton Ton

“To say I’m disappointed is an understatement. Having paid for visas and waited over six months, our visas to perform have still not been processed and, unable to book flights, hotels, etc, we have little option but to try and reschedule for 2027. I’m gutted as a lot of our North American friends have booked flights, bought tickets and hotels already for themselves. I’d like to do a gift of some kind to those of you - will keep you posted of plans. Very sad. Was looking forward to visit after so long. Best wishes. Adrian.”

Nightmares On Wax vs Adrian Sherwood - Flippin’ Eck
The second single from the forthcoming In A Space Outta Dub album is out now, a dub re-work of the much-loved Nightmares On Wax track “Flip Ya Lid”, augmented with On-U Sound players Doug Wimbish, Mark Bandola, Cyrus Richard and Crucial Tony. Visualiser by Ruff Mercy.
Fun Fact - the original “Flip Ya Lid” is built around a sample of “Oh Me Oh My” by Lloyd Charmers, released by Pama Records. Adrian Sherwood’s first job in music back in the 1970s was driving a delivery van of reggae singles to record shops round the UK for... Pama.
In A Space Outta Dub. 8 version excursions of tracks from In A Space Outta Sound. Dropping 3rd April 2026 on vinyl, CD, and digital via Warp Records and On-U Sound.
