Two Michelin star is no joke. You'd never know from the outside or the bar bathroom but this place bleeds class. Just one of the many reasons this taco bar is a must hit when you're in the EV. I have yet to have a bad time here and I'd definitely recommend coming earlier in the week. Definitely can be a good time if you're tryna get rowdy but when it's less crowded this place is a total gem. Come eat and drink in a place run by a hospitality legend. And if your friends are busy and you’re looking for someone to go with, we’re giving early access to @onthegrid.app so comment or dm and I’ll send you the link. #barrecs #loneliness #nycbars #bars #endloneliness

124 pieces, are we goated or could we have pushed harder? I will say I started to have to pull the Joey Chestnut with a bit of water between each bite to slide some of the nigiri down 👀 I think the concept from Souraji is really smart both from a business sense and a customer. You start with 14 pieces slowly coming out so you’re not super hungry when it’s time to order the AYCE round. That said if you come in well prepared to eat you reach levels of grubbing previously unseen. Defiantly get over to souraji with the homies or your girl asap and let us know what you think. Also, what other places should we check out? And if you don’t have anyone to go with we just started adding more users to @onthegrid.app where you can save places like this and meet other people who want to check it out too. We’ve got a series few months of sports coming up. After the NBA finals there’s usually a huge slog of bad sports until the MLB playoffs but thankfully we are being blessed with the World Cup this year. That leaves us a very vital question: where do I watch all this good ball? Well if you’re lucky enough to catch the Knicks at MSG (or any other show) then Pig N Whistle is a great place to buckle down this spring/summer. Even if you’re not catching a game at the garden it’s fun to drink near the arena for sure. The menus got a lot of hits i wouldn’t go without getting food. Lowkey my sleeper pick is the steak salad it was 🔥 start with that then graduate onto the Reuben and you’ll be right as rain. Go check em out and let us know what you think. I’m getting hungry just thinking about this food. I’ll be honest when I first saw the combos I was a little apprehensive but man I couldn’t have been more wrong. First off, the presentation alone was absolutely beautiful. And given the lack of pretension you’d never know how amazing the dishes are going to be. The quality of the craftsmanship was so apparent in literally every dish from appetizers to dessert. But then the food itself was so incredible. I really loved the pastas for the main but everything is family style so you’ll get to try everything. The unagi sandwich was hands down one of the best things I’ver ever had. I was really surprised how good eel on a fresh buttery croissant would taste. Obviously the two things alone are really good but I wasn’t sure they’d work together. Evidently I was wrong. Get over to Manhatto ASAP and let us know what you think. If you’ve been to places like this please give us recs. And if you don't have anyone to go with we just started adding more users to @onthegrid.app where you can save places like this and meet other people who want to check it out too. I'm always hype when I discover a new spot that mixes great hospitality and history together. Haswell Greens certainly fits the bill. I didn't know who Andrew Haswell Green was until doing some research after going to the bar; super interesting stuff. Andrew Haswell Green built central park, the bronx zoo, the met, the public library, and had the crazy idea to combine all the surrounding boroughs into what is modern day NYC. Could you imagine if the boroughs were considered the suburbs today? So insane to just think about. Crazy part of his lore is he was murdered by a jealous husband who mistook him for his wife's lover, turns out it was someone else entirely. The olden days were crazy. And the thing about the old days is they the old days. This is definitely a really cool spot to check out if you're nearby and would definitely argue this is worth the trip to the neighborhood for the live music and espresso martinis. Go check it out and let us know what you think. So many great things I can say about this place. The food itself would be a highlight on its own but when you add the location it takes it to another level. If you’re looking for a weekend getaway or even a day trip from the city this is the place to go. Also a really interesting history here about the whole du pont family. Pretty crazy to imagine that they just owned and built this entire thing. Never realized how much they really owned even back in the day. At 1906 in Longwood Gardens you have to get the soup and dessert. The good thing is the menu is prix fixe so you just choose the options you’d like. You can choose two or three accompaniments and a main. I can’t recommend this place more. And if you don't have anyone to go with we just started adding more users to @onthegrid.app where you can save places like this and meet other people who want to check it out too. Save this one when you're looking for an unique and special night. The legendary @jeffreymbell and the team behind Please Don't Tell just opened a beautiful new bar that is 100% ball knower vibes. Unless you've been here before or someone put you on, you probably wouldn't even know its there. When I first walked by I thought it was there was a private Met Gala party or something like that. More so I thought it was definitely not a place a commoner like me could go to. However I was sorely mistaken! Highball is a creative combo of F&B concepts and historical significance; appropriately right by Grand Central. This is an awesome spot and definitely felt very high-class New York. Something that a lot of places cosplay but Highball nails. It's the type of place that time can just pass by as the night goes on. If you want a memorable experience with a special someone or a group of friends after work, definitely get over to Highball and let us know what you think. The name says it all and for good reason. If you want a delicious hearty meal that doesn't feel unhealthy and processed, you gotta get over to Cozy Soup 'n Burger. I'm not joking when I tell you this is the best soup I've had in New York. What's crazy is the split pea tastes like its made with a beef or pork base but it's 100% vegetables. It's extremely rich and flavorful but doesn't rely on heavy cream for flavor. The family recipe is strong with this one. And that's just to get you started. I'd definitely recommend the coffee with Jon's extra little touch. It was 100% black iced coffee but Jon put some special blend sort of like an egg cream without the sugar. It tasted like a latte, super smooth and it brought out the flavor of the coffee. However, like I said, it was just straight black coffee. Gofundme link is in our bio. Let's help these guys stay alive; either through enjoying a great meal or a direct donation (or both!). Definitely grab the gyro burger if you want a filling meal that won't make you feel weighed down too. It comes with the skinny fries with special greek seasoning and the shredded fries on the inside are seasoned with oregano and lemon. Go help this family business stay alive. I am always blown away at how many amazing things there are to do in New York. I’m even more blown away that I miss out on so many. In addition to hospitality recs, we’re gonna be posting fun events and things to do at the start of every week. We’ll share any custom discounts or freebies that we can offer in the link in our bio. First up, in honor of our team's Asian heritage and AAPI month, Asian comedy fest is running may 5th through 7th at Sugar Mouse. If you've tickets and info at asiancomedyfest[dot]com. If you're in hospitality or trying to break in, Strive networking is hosting a hospitality and business networking event Wednesday at 5th&mad. Promoters, restauranteurs, consultants, analysts etc...it seems like it will be a great event for people in the industry or trying to learn more. Find it on eventbrite or strive networking's website. For my healthy people (stay away from me) NYRR is doing a free 5K open run Thursdays at 7pm starting at henry hudson gate in flushing meadows corona park. no excuses, it's free, it's outside, go touch grass. If you’re tryna get after it, Friday night Arcana skyline series at the Highlight room. Saturday during the day korean x filipino fusion food festival (crossover as good as Iverson’s), Saturday night amber sunset party at moxy hotel with rooftop views. We put custom discounts to the parties in our link in bio specifically for the @onthegrid.app community so go grab those before they're gone 🔗 link in bio. #nycrecs #loneliness #thingstodoinnyc #bars #endloneliness

Philly is closer than a lot of New York City suburbs and they’ve got an insanely underrated hospitality scene. If you’re thinking of a day trip or a weekend trip and you love trying new food and drinks I’d hop on the 75 minute train to Philly for Post Haste. I know a lot of people exaggerate on social media but I will stand on these drinks being the best and most interesting I’ve ever had. If something were to top them, I will gladly admit it in the future. They were so creative and deeply, deeply flavorful. And because of their circular kitchen approach, the drinks genuinely paired with the food in ways that I hadn’t experienced before. What I love about this concept is it also makes every visit here special and creates a completeness to the meal that you pretty much cannot get without this approach. They’ve also got a great happy hour during the week with items you can’t get at other times. On The Grid is now live in Philly if you don't have anyone to go with download @onthegrid.app where you can save places like this and meet other people who want to check it out too.
