The pavilion connects human movement with light. The light at its core grows brighter and more vibrant based on the energy generated by people’s movements, which encourages everyone to create a more vibrant space together.
Using sensors, the system tracks the number and speed of people inside, adjusting the tone, intensity, and saturation of the light in real-time. This creates an architecture that interacts with the movements of the city, telling a story of the city’s energy through its shifting light.

Finalist proposal by @onlyonly.studio for @copenhagen_contemporary , contemporary arts festival ‘Yet It Moves,’ “explores the theme of motion as an omnipresent phenomenon, raising our awareness of the many complex movement patterns in which we are all entangled.”
The pavilion is an immersive installation that connects human movement with light. Blending architecture with insights from the fashion industry and the technology of point cloud scanning.

From Riga, onlyonly presents Daydreamer, a collectible seating piece built on a forward-tilting steel chassis skinned in natural plant-based latex, designed to engineer the body into complete stillness.
The contradiction is structural. Daydreamer's silhouette communicates speed: the form tilts at the front, its segmented latex surface curving upward at both ends, the eight stainless steel legs splaying outward at low clearance above the ground. It looks like something built for performance. Its purpose is the opposite. Anna Liva Traumane and Harijs Vucens of onlyonly.studio designed it to produce absolute stillness in whoever occupies it, on the grounds that most people have lost access to non-performing rest. @onlyonly.studio

When the otherworldly Daydreamer by Riga based @onlyonly.studio made its debut at the @designbiennalerotterdam it certainly managed to capture the spotlight! It turned out to be one of the absolute highlights of the week.
As soon as it was clear that Spazio Viruly would be attending @collectiblefair , I knew one thing for sure: the 'daydreamer' had to come too! It would make the perfect final addition to the line-up.

The ‘Daydreamer’ is a speculative seating piece reimagining the act of repose for our hyper-connected age.
The chair challenges conventional notions of rest, inviting a radical shift from perpetual performance to conscious pause. Floating mere centimeters above ground on precision-engineered legs, its distinctive form creates an immediate sense of otherworldliness while its segmented surface engages the body in an intimate dialogue.
Daydreamer embodies material duality – its translucent natural latex surface that offers a subtle, intimate tactility, contrasts with the meticulously crafted stainless steel structure beneath.
Each uniquely shaped segment breaks traditional symmetry, cradling the head, limbs, and torso in distinct placements that heighten awareness of individual body parts. By transforming the simple act of reclining into a transformative experience, Daydreamer shifts perspectives from unconscious scanning the world to becoming the subject of one’s own focus.
The piece represents onlyonly studio’s transmorphic design approach, where references from diverse fields evolve into compelling spatial experiences that question established norms while seeking new languages of expression.
Daydreamer invites you to surrender to stillness in an era of constant motion. What happens when we shift attention from constantly scanning the world to simply being present in our own bodies? This question led us to design a piece that challenges familiar notions of seating.
Daydreamer suspends you just centimeters above ground, placing your body in an unusual position with limbs and head in specific arrangements that heighten bodily awareness. The asymmetrical soft pads create an imperfect, almost body-like surface – deliberately contrasting with the precise stainless steel structure beneath.
We chose natural latex for its skin-like quality – a plant-based alternative to synthetic materials that will sensitively change over time, much like we do.
Its fluid form draws subtle inspiration from performance aesthetics, yet invites the opposite: a state of conscious non-performance.

Where history meets now - our latest intervention at Riga Central Market glows like a lantern as dusk falls. Metallic curtains dance beneath century-old Zeppelin hangar trusses, creating a dreamy space for gastro-experiences in Europe’s largest market. 🌙
