I can't believe I got to be a part of Charlotte Edgefest and the SHOUT Festival for the first time this year! Thanks to @cltstreetartcollab and @cltshout last Saturday 4/12 I had the honor and pleasure of live painting an 8x4' panel in First Ward Park alongside 26 other amazing local artists I've long admired and looked up to. I was nervous leading up to Edgefest as I am completely new to spray painting, and this was my largest painting yet, but on the day of the event all my nerves went away and I had the best time meeting so many talented artists. The experience was absolute bliss, so rewarding, so many great conversations and connections were made, and now I spray paint and am beginning painting murals, which I'm very excited to continue! Thank you SO much to everyone who came out and supported us and enjoyed the festival! Lmk if I missed tagging you, I definitely didn't get everyone. Huge shout-out to @matthewscotthoneycutt for practicing spray painting with me and helping me get prepared for the event!
Don't forget to catch me 4/26-4/27 I'll be at the Charlotte BOOM @clt_boom Festival at the University City Boardwalk running an Artist Trading Card booth with 11 other artists I've curated! Come make and trade cards with us, and check out the entire fun-for-all-ages fringe festival with free and ticketed events 4/25-4/27! 📍5528 Waters Edge Village Drive, Charlotte, NC 28262

I am very excited to showcase two of my recent political artworks at this show next week! Join us at @charlottestudioartists ' show "250 Years of Becoming: The American Journey"'s public reception Thursday, May 21, from 5:00 PM–8:30 PM at Charlotte Studio Artists in NoDa.
It promises to be a lively and engaging evening filled with wonderful artwork, meaningful conversations with the artists, and a chance for visitors to explore the entire CSA studio space. All Charlotte Studio Artists studios will be open during the reception, creating a vibrant atmosphere throughout the gallery and studios.
I created “Huddled Masses Yearning To Breathe Free” in response to immigration enforcement actions imposed by the U.S. government. The faces in this mixed media painting are inspired by people from real photographs of ICE detention centers. Their eyes spoke volumes to me through the pictures of families behind chain-link fences and barbed wire, and I attempted to convey their messages. I immediately thought of the message inscribed on The Statue of Liberty, meant to welcome immigrants to our country, and how twisted it has become.

Today was the last day to see me chuck a bunch of camels off a cliff! This and a very different acrylic piece of mine were on display for @caincenterforthearts ' Homegrown show for the past month or so, displaying works of local artists.
I love this piece and how fun and playful, yet simultaneously dark and twisted it feels. It was one of the first surrealist pieces I've made, and it started me down a path I'm absolutely loving!
Some days I really feel like the camels in this painting 🥲

I'm sorry, I can't come to the phone right now, I'm too busy reminiscing on this past weekend at @clt_boom 🥺
I genuinely can't get over how rewarding it was handing out custom typewritten poems to festival attendees. It's the first time I've had the opportunity to connect so deeply with strangers, and I feel like we each left with a part of each other.
My heart is also filled with the love I received from my friends! So many of you came out to the BOOM Charlotte Festival and supported me, and it means the absolute world to me!
I had too much fun to not make this happen again, so stay tuned for future renditions of "Odes To You"💚
Thank you @meganhillartistry & @whats_vtec for being extra supportive and not only hanging out with me all day but capturing these lovely photos! You are absolute gems and I love you!

I had the best time at the 2026 BOOM Charlotte Festival gifting free custom poems to friends and strangers from my typewriter in my performance "Odes To You"!
Thank you so much to all the wonderful people who made it out to the festival! It was such a rewarding experience sending people home with meaningful gifts that speak to the connections we made. I don't know what other action leads to such intimacy amongst strangers, but you bared your hearts to me, shared some beautiful parts of your relationships with me, and I will cherish these memories forever.
I learned that the more depth provided in a prompt for a poem, the better and more meaningful the poem becomes. I loved coming up with material for everything from Sam's Club runs to love poems. Let me know if you're interested in me doing this again at some point, because I sure loved it!
Thank you @clt_boom for another amazing festival, and thank you so much for having me back💚
Video credit to @meganhillartistry & @whats_vtec You guys are the best, thank you for capturing these moments for me🥰
Find free art hidden at @clt_boom this weekend!
BOOM Charlotte is back all weekend long at University City Boardwalk and my lovely friends @marwaalqatari & @marieldaigle were kind enough to hide some of my art prints around the festival for you to find and keep!
Tag me if you find one!
My partner saw me working on this piece and asked if it was of the Holocaust. No, I created "Huddled Masses Yearning To Breathe Free" based on real photos of ICE detention centers.
What do their eyes say to you?
15 x 11 inch watercolor on paper.

Over the past four years I've had the pleasure of consistently participating in the Charlotte BOOM Festival through various group projects I've curated and led, from "A Sunday Afternoon in Charlotte"-- a collaboration between 23 Charlotte artists coming together to replicate Seurat's "A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte"-- to a group live painting, to Artist Trading Card Booths.
While I typically use the opportunity of BOOM to collaborate with other artists, this year I had a busy Spring and didn't have the capacity to lead a group project. This year I will be at The Boardwalk on Saturday May 2nd 3-5pm (longer if materials permit) gifting free poetry live from my typewriter, customized for you, in my performance I call "Odes To You".
Please come visit me, let's have a good chat and send you home with some written word you can relate to and keep. Enjoy this small thank you from me, and please enjoy the many other offerings of this amazing festival I so cherish.
BOOM Charlotte is the largest, most diverse, artist-led festival, featuring 100+ shows (both FREE & ticketed, indoor performances) + food and local artisan vendors.
From aerial dance to Native American drumming, BOOM Charlotte champions creative risk-taking and artistic freedom, and each year, they amplify independent artists across theater, dance, music, poetry, visual arts, and more!
Join me this weekend at @clt_boom 2026 at The University City Boardwalk May 1-3. Get your Fringe show tickets before they sell out!

Where my ladies at who have had a man take credit for something she did? Or who've been constantly interrupted and spoken over? How about the ladies who've been assaulted at work? Or the ladies who have had to leave a job to get away from some absolute creep?? The ladies who have been bullied, belittled, and had their joy taken from them by some pompous ass at one point or another???
Yeah, not all men, but it's a lot more common than those who haven't experienced it realize. Hence,
"Women At Work" 24 x 36 inch acrylic on canvas.
I made this painting after creating a different one I have yet to share about the Divine Masculine for a show I have coming up in October 2026. After exploring healthy versus toxic masculinity, it only felt right to explore the wounded feminine subsequently. I had plenty of material for that subject😉 ESPECIALLY from my work experiences, where I feel the power imbalance of the patriarchy is perhaps most apparent.
Both the original painting and fine art prints are available. DM me to grab yours.
