The DHU is a Tri-Service Unit that provides the specialist Human Intelligence (HUMINT) capability to Defence. This includes the provision of Agent Handlers (Op SAMSON) and Interrogators (Op METIS). Service within the DHU is open to both male and female volunteers.
The Trident and net are representative of the Units motto
“Piscatores Hominum” (Fishers of Men) and were the weapons used by the ‘retiarius’ a Roman gladiator considered to have speed and agility to avoid his opponent’s attacks waiting for the optimum moment to strike.
