Sienda, Sarroch, Maggio: Questa volta sono tornato a Sarroch per festeggiare in ritardo i miei trent’anni con la mia famiglia, ed ero sicuro di ritrovare il piacevole caos che di solito si respira il 1° maggio con Sant’Efisio, Ramadura, Gloriedda e tantissimi amici. Un mix perfetto di ingredienti per festeggiare anche il mio nuovo EP. Questa volta, però, il destino aveva altri piani. Ci siamo scontrati con la dura realtà di quanto la vita possa essere fragile e crudele, persino nel bel mezzo delle feste. Abbiamo vissuto un diverso senso di comunità, un senso di lutto, che ha avvolto l’intero paese in un velo di rispettoso silenzio. E probabilmente quel silenzio ci ha dato l’opportunità di guardare le cose da una prospettiva diversa, e sicuramente ci ha costretti a riflettere su quanto siamo fortunati a trascorrere del tempo su questa terra con le persone che amiamo. È una cosa a cui penso spesso quando sono lontano, e quando ho paura di perdere il contatto con la mia terra, con le persone con cui sono cresciuto e con le loro storie. Negli ultimi anni ho cercato di infondere un po’ di casa nella musica che compongo o nelle canzoni che suono dal vivo, per contrastare questa sensazione. Ho deciso di registrare una cover di “Sienda” con questo intento. È la prima volta che registro qualcosa in lingua sarda e sono onorato di avere il mio padrino musicale @mauropalmas_ al mio fianco. Ricordo di aver ascoltato l’album Rosa Resolza di Andrea Parodi e @elenaleddaofficial almeno un milione di volte, tante di questi nei momenti di sconforto in cui avevo bisogno di qualcosa a cui appigliarmi. Spero che questa mia interpretazione possa rendere giustizia all’amore che ho verso questa canzone e a tutte le cose che rappresenta per me. E spero che possa essere utile a chiunque l’ascolti. 🚨🌼 ‘The Daisy EP’ is out tonight at midnight. This is my 2nd studio EP, made of 4 songs: 1. Daisy 2. Glad (feat. @musicbyloah ) 3. Burgundy 4. Sienda (w special guest @mauropalmas_ ) So much work went into this and I’m very proud of it. It’s been 2 years since my debut EP, and it’s been hard to keep up with the pace of life, juggling between 9 to 5 jobs, financial pressure, cost of living crisis, housing crisis, global politics and social norms going to shit. It’s extremely hard to stay motivated, trying to break through and turn this into a full time self sustaining job, and if these songs finally found their way out into the world, is because I have been blessed with many amazing people beside me.
