Last Saturday, @only.hanpan , @espagan86 , and I cohosted the third annual Backyard Ren Fest (BYRF)! (We have since taken to referring to it as BYRFday, pronounced “birfday”. This will not change for the foreseeable future.) The weather forecast the week leading up to it really took us on an emotional rollercoaster but we managed to avoid rain during the actual event, which was fortunate since this year we incorporated aerial performance and live music (both of which had no contingency plan for rain) for the first time. @parcellicarmen , @intotheblue.aerial , and I constituted the aerial portion, and @seeliecourtmusic was this year’s featured presenter! (My favorite part of the clip from Carmen’s performance is where one of @lianacarissa ’s kids audibly goes “That looks SO hard!!”) I was very remiss at taking photos with/of most of the people I invited but it was a great time, and I look forward to doing it again next year! But until then, I guess we have ACTUAL ren faire to tide us over lol. 🏡🏰

The National Cathedral was the perfect setting for a Final Fantasy 9/Kingdom of Alexandria shoot. All of our photos in this set look like medieval paintings. I’m so in love with them. Still over the moon that Han & I got to do General Beatrix & Princess Garnet together since we had been planning & talking about our FF9 cosplay goals for a few years now. These photos Amie took of us turned out so ethereal & look so effortless you can’t even tell we shot in the middle of the winter in freezing winds.

Six Ren faires, five house projects, four cats, three international trips, two new hobbies, and one 2025 in the bag. It's been a year of largely being alone, but a lot has come from that.
Friends, I have no lt provided a Fork update!!!! Fork is an AMAZING sweet friend that we absolutely loved hosting at Chez Little Girl. But.... He relaxed with us... Until he realizes he *really* wanted a friend. A feline friend. Buster wasn't doing it for him. So Fork, our favorite toothless friend, was relocated to a new foster home with another feline friend. If you think your cat needs a new best friend, reach out and we can chat. And we are without a cat again.
We knew he wasn't going to be here for a long time, but we hoped it was longer than this. We are so blessed to have had the chance to love you, Smokey Cheeks.
Obviously settling in for a night without Mr Han means my favorite book by @jendelucawrites , my favorite sweatshirt by @bibliostylesco , the appropriate candle from @briarwick , and.... Oh I suppose next I need a proper Willow Creek Renaissance Faire mug, but til then, @mdrenfest will do!
