Not technically gripping, but all my own effort. Wrangling strobes for position and setting, adjusting arms and then camera set to full manual mode. All underwater in a medium current on an ever changing subject. Learned a lot from the resident under water photographer on the trip. This was the first time I’ve ever moved the strobes, turned off TTL and had the camera on full manual mode. Dive number 14 with an underwater camera of any sort. Chuffed with the results.

dolly, track, quad and mathematics. The mathematics on the hoof was the biggest challenge at the time of the day. Frames recorded at equidistant intervals on the curve track to create a few seconds of animation. It’s work, but not really “work”. Yesterday was a “check-the-gate” kinda day. Helping @admacgripservices to install a 3 foot slider into the back of a classic car for some 35mm action. Captured on my @canonuk R6 with an 8-15mm lens to capture the whole rig in a tight space.
One thing I’m realising is that not only is it a challenge to find a moment to photograph your efforts before moving on, but, it is also really difficult to photograph grip kit in any detail. Nothing particularly impressive other than it was me on my own on a short film. Level/safe/secure/smooth and in the right position... Loving the change, the challenge and learning new skills. Those who’ve helped the most don’t really like the limelight but they know who they are and for their help and encouragement I’m eternally grateful! With @jennisuitiala_dop for two nights of shooting on a no budget short film. Thanks to @movietech for the high quality kit on such a tight budget!
First track laid and tracking shot undertaken in a professional capacity all be it on a minuscule budget short film. Got to start somewhere, back to one’s… camera, legs, head and DOP added after dark, but it went smoothly & without a hitch.
