1965 / Here’s a cool 60’s Garage Instrumental titled “Get Your Baby” done by The Premiers who were considered one of the top bands in the Chicano 60’s “East Side Sound” scene coming out of LA. Although they get put into that scene and/or category, The Premiers weren’t from East LA; they hail from the San Gabriel Valley (shoutout to all you 626er’s out there). This is The Premiers second release on the Faro Production Studios label out of Hollywood. Their first release being the well famously known “Farmer John” single from 1964. Dig it! #DjOmarTheKid

I finally got to see the lads live for my first (maybe last) time as this was one of their so-called farewell U.S. performances. It was a smashing time & well worth traveling across the country for the first of two nights that they performed in Brooklyn this past weekend.
I missed @cocksparrer last year during PRB because I was out of town traveling, and on the night that I did get back to town; I missed their “secret” club show that I was unaware of. A few months down the road they announced a date back home in LA at the Hollywood Palladium for late last year. I grabbed a ticket immediately when they went on sale for that show. I unfortunately wasn’t able to make it down the weekend of because of some last minute things on my end. I actually gave away my ticket to a homie for that show. I knew that I couldn’t miss out on one of the two nights once the NYC dates were announced; so I bought a ticket and booked a flight. Third time sure is a charm right?
