Today we have celebrated another #WasteNotWednesday and here are just some of the meals our volunteers and customers have made with items from our surplus food store.
The community store is on Mill street in Macclesfield. Right in the town centre. A two minute walk from the bus station. We are open to everyone, 6 days a week. And sometimes the meals are obvious, sometimes it takes a little bit of creativity. But we love seeing what people can make with surplus food. So please share your ideas using our designated hashtag and let's build a surplus community!

A slightly different post from us but an important one, and one that highlights something one project can provide that you may not know about
Period poverty affects far more women and girls than many people realise. Approx 1 in 4 women will be affecred at some point in their lives.Across the UK, millions struggle with the cost of period products, with some forced to choose between buying food, heating or sanitary items. For many, it can mean missing school, work, social activities or simply feeling isolated and embarrassed during a completely natural part of life.
At One Project, we believe nobody should have to go without the essentials.
That’s why we regularly purchase pads, tampons and period pants, which are availablein our community store to anyone who needs them — no judgement, no awkward questions, just support.
If you, your child, a friend or someone you know is struggling, please know you are not alone and we are here to help quietly and respectfully.
Sometimes the smallest items can make the biggest difference 💜

Friday Appreciation Post
What a week it’s been at One Project! 💚
To all of our incredible volunteers and amazing customers — old faces and new — and there has been lots of new faces over the last few days, thank you. The shop has been busier than ever this week, and none of it would be possible without your continued support, kindness and community spirit.
Whether you’ve donated, volunteered your time, popped in for a chat, collected food, supported the shop or simply shared what we do with others, you are all part of what makes One Project so special.
Thank you for standing with us, supporting each other and helping our community grow stronger every single day. We appreciate every single one of you 💚
Don't forget we are open tomorrow, Saturday, 10am til 2pm!

Yesterday Kate was over in Homles Chapel for the Cheshire East Food Alliance Meeting.
It is a great opportunity to hear from other food projects and support services about what they are doing and what they have on offer to help the community.
We have a great network in Macclesfield between the projects, the alliance has introduced us to lots of other projects and we have built some great connections with groups across Cheshire.
Thank you to CVS and Cheshire East for the food hampers. These have enabled us to stock our support stock up for our in need service users.
Kate also dropped some of these on her way back with one of the hostels. The team and the residents were super happy with them.
Cheshire Woman Award Nominee 🤗
Never been good at being in the limelight, much happier in the background getting on with the work that needs doing.
Super proud to receive this nomination and even more proud that it brings a spot light onto what good work our project does for it's local community and surrounding towns and villages.
Community matters and within Macclesfield we are so lucky we have some fantastic groups that all help to make our community and environment a better place to live.

With this lovely sunshine comes more good news ☀️
The One Project have been nominated for the Community Group of the year with the BBC Make a Difference awards🎉
So much goes on behind the scenes that people do not see to allow us to be able to offer food, clothes and much more 6 days a week.
As a team we are super happy to just receive a nomination that highlights all the hard work that goes on.
Thank you to all our volunteers and to all our community supporters 💚

Wow. What a day. Two huge clothing sales ✅️
Approx 160 bags of clothes saved from landfill. Gone to new homes to be re-loved, repurposed or resold.. its been hectic but definitely worth it.
A huge thank you to our volunteers for setting up and hosting and a bigger thank you to our customers for turning up and rescuing tonnes of clothing!
Let's get ready for the next one.
