When Marcus and Alexys first told us they are going to build a farm in a carpark in the middle of Orchard for their wedding, we couldn’t believe it. 🌱

Spent the last 8 days at a natural building workshop at Rancho Mastatal and we had a blast 💥 You know how as kids we built sandcastles at the beach and then became adults and somehow dismissed those activities as just kids' play? Who knew you could dance around with friends to mix up mud with your feet and build actual livable (beautiful) earthen buildings and plaster earthen walls with your bare hands - and have so much fun! What an experience that was both primal and empowering at the same time. Definitely inspired to transform our living spaces back home.
Meet Marcus Koe and Alexys Tjhia from Habitat Collective, a permaculture design and land management consultancy working towards creating a climate-appropriate food system, and advocating for a community-focused and environmentally-regenerative agriculture.
Founder & Director Marcus has always been interested in humanity, the environment, and the intersections between them. He started his journey as an urban farmer in 2017 and continues to passionately pursue expertise in designing ecological food gardens and forests, small and human-scale systems, permaculture inspired regenerative solutions, and community-supported agriculture. Co-Founder Alexys brings her expertise as the director of sustainability at a luxury hotel chain, into creating unique and educational guest experiences to enable others to make more conscious informed decisions around food and sustainability.
