I owe everything to Elsie ...I was 15 I wanted to be an actor and I simply didn't know how. I had no connections, no knowledge , no belief in myself. It was just a dream I was told, do something else. Then I met Elsie. The insanely witty, beautiful, bold Elsie. It wasn't about her talent as a teacher, mentor, director, actor...though she was wonderful at all those. It was her immeasurable belief in me/us/young creatives . In a world filled with 'No' she was an emphatic 'Yes'. I'm not nearly as gracious or as nurturing but I try to pass on her love and positivity. As legacies go that's no bad thing....I'm truly honoured to have known you . A magnificent life well lived and my heart is breaking.
