There’s something timeless about street photography—the way it preserves life as it unfolds, unfiltered and unapologetically real. These frames from Kampala capture the rhythm of a city in motion. It was back-to-school season—a time when parents and siblings move through the streets with purpose, preparation, and quiet determination.
Choosing monochrome was intentional. Stripping away color reveals emotion, contrast, and narrative in their purest form—the raw exchanges, hurried footsteps, and hopeful glances. In the everyday bustle of Kampala, there is poetry: families preparing for new beginnings, resilience woven into routine, and community alive on every corner.
Street photography is a reminder that powerful stories rarely need staging. They ask only for presence, patience, and perspective.

These frames were captured by our young stars during a photography workshop guided by @bertinleader and @onegu_rwoth
Through the lens, they were introduced to the camera as a tool for storytelling — exploring framing, light, and expression.
Each image carries a unique story of resilience, celebration, strength, and gratitude.
this workshop empowered a unique type of story telling through photography.
This was self-expression, sharing, exploring, learning, and possibilities.

Joy in the Dark in my Black & White series
“Even in the shadows, Abu’s smile carries light. A reminder that joy is not the absence of darkness, but the courage to shine through it.”

Community in sports, captured in black & white 🖤🤍
With Issa Bin Ismail & @spydamc gracing the day, we’re reminded — “Emikisa jili wali bakungnye”(Blessings are where people be).
A moment of togetherness, in frames of strength, a story of us. ✨

Through my lens, I captured the @pccp_community community in moments of unity, joy, and healthy competition. Each black & white frame tells a story — not just of sports and activities, but of togetherness, resilience, and the spirit of belonging.
From the laughter of young stars to the pride of parents and leaders, these images remind me that community is more than a place — it’s the heartbeat of shared experiences.
Photography became my way of storytelling — sharing the essence of connection, culture, and celebration in timeless shades of black and white.

Growing up in the heart of Kampala,(Capital of Uganda) surrounded by the red sands of kabalagala(outskirt), I learned the true value of community. The friends I played with were my neighbors & my family. As time passes and life evolves, it's easy to forget those simple moments. But every now and then, I am reminded—like in this picture—of how pure and grounding those childhood days were. A reminder to stay connected to the people, community and the joy of simplicity. #Kampala #Community #Art #Identity #Yenze #Blackandwhitephotography #ChildhoodMemories #Nostalgia
"Drums on concrete, echoes in air,
Ancient hands in modern flair.
Where rhythms roam and stories blend,
Tradition walks where streets don't end."
