The Portal is an immersive spatial installation that viewers are invited to walk through. As viewers move with the work, they witness how the multi-layered digital painting transforms. The installation is constructed from a sequence of suspended fabric and transparent LED mesh panels, carefully cut to create openings that allow visitors to physically pass through the structure, forming a permeable architectural environment. At the heart of the piece are 28 custom-made transparent DiGi mesh screens that together form a digital canvas of more than 200,000 individually addressable pixels. World Trade Center Amsterdam is a leading cross-sector business hub in the heart of the Amsterdam Zuidas. Guided by the positioning ‘Welcome to Change’, it brings together people, businesses and ideas shaping the new economy: where finance, impact and tech meet.   WTC Amsterdam is currently undergoing a large-scale renovation as part of its broader transformation into a vibrant business ecosystem. This is reflected throughout the entire building, including the modernization of the parking garage and its entrance. The renewed design creates a seamless and intuitive arrival experience, aligned with WTC Amsterdam’s transformation into a more open and welcoming environment.   OneEightyOne was proud to contribute to this progress with our expertise in dynamic and functional lighting. The WTC parking garage hosts hundred of vehicles every day,  so it was important to provide a balanced solution where aesthetic meets utility.   For this project, we supplied DiGi Modules E6 for a dynamic wave-washing effect across the ceiling of the entrance. The ceiling was programmed with multiple content scenes that correspond with community events, holidays and other occasions. To meet functional lighting requirements, we supplied custom-made LED downlights that ensure the space remains bright, safe, and comfortable at all times. The Timescape Bedburg is a multidisciplinary design project that combines architecture and light art within a new bicycle facility in Bedburg, Germany. Developed by Diana Ramaekers and Archigraphus DE, with support from the City of Bedburg, the steel façade transforms a functional space into a meaningful and engaging art piece. At the heart of the project is Zeitveinern, a light choreography that tells the story of Bedburg through four scenes - past, present, and future - expressed as flowing ‘veins’ of light integrated into the structure. The façade design and lighting work together in sync, and bring movement, depth, and rhythm to the whole structure. This installation uses our client favorite G54 linear RGBW wall washers to illuminate the perforated steel surfaces and bring the story of Bedburg to life through light.
