BTS on a shoot with almost 350 people on set at a hot outdoor location on Day 1 followed by a much cooler, equally intense but fun Day 2, with the man of the moment @dubeshivam for @growth_ka_dailydose 's first TVC.

Started on women's day by @lovinglymaya back in 2021, when we were recovering from the horrors of Covid; the first year had some 65 women and a couple of us men who walked or ran 8 kms for all the incredible women we know (and some we don't).
From then it has grown slowly but steadily into an annual affair where women of all ages, men of all abilities, mothers with babes in arms, pooches leading families, do 8 kms or whatever they can safely manage, to grow the #wewomenwalk community across cultures, ages and borders..
My 6th run (jog!) honouring the women in my life.. Happy Womens Day ladies.
When the company is stunning, the alcohol is top shelf, the smokes are mellow and the entertainment is riveting, what the hell else do you need for the 14th of February?!? ;)
A shoot where whatever could go sideways, went sideways including me using up another one of my 9 lives! But by God what a trip this was...
Hopefully on a screen near you soon enough! 🤞🏽

For World War II, they were designed to be dropped from the air. Today, they are designed to also drop your jaw(s).

The jury's out on whether the future is or isn't electric, but some 'electrifying' work on the way!

Scrolling through some stuff the other day, I stopped suddenly on a page. It headlined a simple sentence with profound implications, “Your father is the only man in the world who truly wants to see you do better than him.”
I read it.
And then re-read it.
Because funnily enough, you’d been on my mind these last couple of months. Not concentrated & conscious, but the random passing, fleeting memory of something said. A silly joke shared, a disagreement met with calculated silence. A song played or a passing whiff of your favourite Polo. Tiny, incongruous but meaningful things.
Memories of the quiet guffaw when you’d pull mum’s leg or the sheepish grin when you’d receive a rocket from her. The terror we’d feel when confronted with getting you to sign a terrible report card, or the unspoken sense of achievement we’d feel when showing off a track & field medal. Your quick check in whether cigars had been carried on that short, unannounced trip, all the newspapers that would be read with your half cups of chai. That mischievous glint in the eye when there wasn't enough Scotch poured in the glass, or that steel in your voice when you didn't agree with what was being said. Other memories of watching you step into a staff car in your OG’s with those spit shined boots. Or your 8 minute power naps. Blue shirt whenever India was playing. Of your iron clad ideas of right and wrong. Your youngsters gate-crashing your & mum’s home, secure in the knowledge that, “Ak sir won’t have us over the coals tomorrow morning.”
Which is also why I sign off as Aks and not Ak.
For me, Ak has & always will be just you. The man I loved deeply, respected immensely, admired furiously, got mad at often enough & cared for more than I ever told you. A man who shaped me in more ways than one & one who I thought I had a lot more time with. A man for whom so much I have left unsaid & whose boots I will never be able to fill.
7 years today since I made a promise to you dad. I’ll be honest, I struggle with it sometimes, but it remains unbroken.
Wherever you are, I love you & miss you papa - I’m sure you know that but I still wanted to reiterate it.
Just in case.
Affly,
Aks
