We wanted to see it in person AND have a playdate with our 30-ft Beary H. Bonds inflatable! Even the real Beary H. Bonds showed up. He’s dwarfed between the blowups. 😂
The best part was a car drove by and yelled “What the &$@# is going on !?!” 😂 Good question, random car. We’re making this up as we go. #herewego #pittsburgh

WTAE sent reporter Kalea Gunderson to the ice cream shop to report that the order was a large Butterfinger Freeze, a medium Strawberry Pretzel Salad Freeze, and a regular vanilla shake. 😂 This person went to journalism school!
Also Kalea - the bigger story is local ice cream shops and their attempt to create generic, but deceptively similar versions of the Blizzard from Dairy Queen. Stay on that. 🔍

Prantl’s Bakery in Shadyside was founded by Henry and Jane Prantl in 1968 and created WITHOUT A SHADOW OF A DOUBT the greatest cake in history, the Burnt Almond Torte.
The sponge. The filling. The toasting.
Imagine inventing the wheel, or sex, or breathing - you’d only kinda know what it feels like to be Henry. Prantl sold the bakery in 2007.

The Black and Gold are set to face off against the New Orleans Saints on October 25, 2026, at the Stade de France. That’s right, the first-ever regular-season NFL game played in France, and you know Steelers Nation is gonna run that joint.

oneBURGH Debut: Welcome Nellie, the new mascot for the Pittsburgh Riveters FC. She has a Sesame Street vibe. 😂 Adorable.
Our beloved mascot, Beary H. Bonds, was thrilled to share Top Tier mascot advice with Nellie at EQT Park today at Wild Thing’s birthday party. “Keep your head down and pay your dues.”
Nellie is named after Pittsburgh journalist and advocate, Nellie Bly. Nellie (the mascot) is the third most important Nelly in Pittsburgh history:
1) Nellie Bly.
2) Nelly (Hot in Herre, two free shows in Pittsburgh 2026).
3) Nellie, Riveters mascot.

Whoa, wait a second. Greatness respects greatness. Pittsburgh’s new Mullet King, Gennings Dunker, is in the house. 
He told the media last week that he was thinking about swimming in the river! The dude behind him has a decent beard, too. 
Allegheny County just approved stricter rules for the Clairton Coke Works, targeting emissions after decades of complaints about air quality from surrounding communities.
The update aims to increase oversight and finally clamp down on long-standing pollution violations. let’s be real, local residents have spent generations saying, “Hey, maybe don’t poison our air,” and it took until 2026 for officials to finally write it down on paper.
The county is talking a big game about tighter restrictions, but writing down a rule doesn’t mean anything if the air in Clairton still smells like a chemistry set. It’s time to actually enforce it.
