Happy Mother’s Day to all the great women who have been there for us every step of the way! None of us are here without a Mama. And to my fellow moms who are so beautifully balancing their work with raising our next generation, it’s the greatest most important job on earth. Bless you! 💕💕💕💕💕 Even despite the post-fire diaspora, we don’t miss a Mother’s Day… Being together with our moms yesterday was sooo much fun, first at the home of my brother @davidtimoner and “sister-wife” @kellypushywhite - and then venturing to see my son @juki_timoner who is waiting tables as a fresh young college grad (and playing in bands before going for his MFA - I’m so proud of his work ethic!) I sprinkled in a few memories of my Juki as a boy too, how I loved raising him ♥️

Calling your Inner Beasts out to play! This is our 2nd Saturday Procession here in downtown Joshua Tree with paper mache animal heads created by the great @joealvarezart (and the puppets too.) So happy to share the role of GOAT with my dear friend @rachelreidwilke and to run into some of our closest friends who welcomed us into this fantastic artist community a year ago, when we spontaneously moved here post-fire… and these are all the great candidates we are inspired to support after spending time with them today before the festivities. We are confident they will help protect our basic rights and freedoms. Thanks to @kkellyyoga for bringing us together to protect our democracy at this precarious juncture. Happy Mother’s Day & Don’t Forget to Vote before June 2nd!!! The Primary is Crucial! #artqueenvortex #localdemocracy

This is why regional festivals rock. Such fun being the Honored Guest Filmmaker in Cascadia: Giving my Masterclass - especially sharing many clips from my career all at once and inspiring bright young filmmakers - screening LAST FLIGHT HOME, All The Walls Came Down, and DIG! with passionate audiences / adventuring this beautiful place with my beloved - on bikes, bridges and even boats - making new friends and reuniting with old… What a gorgeous weekend!

Just back from a whirlwind 88th Birthday Tour! Happy birthday to all of our living parents, who turned 88 within three days of each other - Charlotte Doctor 4/16/38, Ron Doctor 4/18/38, and celebrating Lisa Timoner TODAY, 4/19/38. It was so much fun to see our families in a nonstop celebration of our adorable, inspiring elders (and happy almost birthday to my brother @davidtimoner who turns 52 on April 21st!) Morgan and I feel we might have been pre-destined when our moms were born with our egg forms back in April 1938. We survived WWII and so much more, to finally find each other in 2019:) Here’s a smattering of birthday cheer for our beloved Aries clan. 🎂♥️

“America’s sense of superiority and entitlement has only grown... It’s like the fall of Rome” - Shepard Fairey This surely hits. One of those moments at the High Desert Art Fair where the whole room swells in agreement. Last weekend, in conversation with Mark Mothersbaugh, Shepard went deep on power, fear, and the invisible mechanics of persuasion that have created fertile ground for the rise of the right, and can be used through art to combat hate. How easy it is to move people without them realizing it, and how uncomfortable it becomes the second you ask them to actually think for themselves. We talked about fear as a tool, about division, and how often we end up getting in our own way instead of uniting despite our differences to move things forward for the greater good. Art that challenges people will always ruffle feathers… but maybe that’s exactly what it’s supposed to do.
