Something I love about the internet is being able to wonder maps in parts of the world not usually available to glimpse into, Siberia, Mongolia, Northern Canada and other parts of the world’s extremities - and documentaries showing windows into these rich worlds.
Lately I’ve been inspired by Mongolian Steppe more so especially after the latest episode of
@raceacrosstheworld and particularly the journey of Jo & Kush… this latest series has been incredible in immersing you into parts of the world you wouldn’t see in this way, and seeing Jo and Kush so impacted by this has been so beautiful to witness. It touches me beyond it just being ‘telly’ and a format. It’s immense to see lives changed by being able to experience the world, connecting to fellow humans, cultures coming together, vital and challenging, and remind me of something I’ve found via Workaway. @waynemccauslin ! And I find this inclination comes towards travel and putting myself into the unknown when life stagnates, becomes too comfortable, insular, cut off. Mild discomfort + being in service always seems to rejuvenate and remind me of myself, who I actually am, and our collective humanity too.
This quote couldn’t be truer:

Illustrations / doodles loosely inspired and bubbles up on the train, this happens when I’ve been really touched by something. This direct line and spark of inspiration that just emerges and shows me something only once it’s emerged #drawing as processing. And feels good to let this need flow out again.
