We are ecstatic to present the legendary experimentalist Bruce Russell (The Dead C) alongside Sulla Lingua from Italy/Australia and local multi-disciplinary icon Mimmie. Tix in bio ❤️ ____ Mimmie, the beacon of the scene will present a new work. Bruce Russell will play his first solo show in Naarm in approximately 10+ years. Sulla Lingua is an electroacoustic/post-rock/math-rock super group comprised of outstanding avant-garde composers and players Anthony Pateras, Stefano Pilia and Riccardo La Foresta. ___ Bruce Russell is a practitioner in sound from Aotearoa/NZ, who has been ruthlessly putting rock music to the question since he joined the Dead C. in 1987. His upcoming Australian dates are his first mainland shows since 2017 (not counting the Dark COVID Mofo of 2021). His solo guitar practice mixes rock, electro-acoustics, noise and improvisation in equal measures; reconfiguring the blues as a form of improvisational auto-destructive protest. Described by international experts as ‘the Jimi Hendrix of no technique’. His approach to working with sound is brutal, but guarantees results: ‘Eric Clapton sleeps with the fishes’. He is also a public academic who has written a collection of essays on sound, Left-handed Blows (2010). He also edited Erewhon Calling: Experimental Sound in New Zealand, (2012) and A Record Could be Your Whole World (2024). He has a doctorate in sound art from RMIT and coordinates creative research and post-graduate teaching in creative practice at Ara Institute of Canterbury. His next book is on the complete electro-acoustic works of Douglas Lilburn. Wednesday July 9, Valentina Magaletti, renowned for her work with Holy Tongue, Moin, Vanishing Twin and many more, presents a debut Melbourne solo performance for Omniversal Hum. Blending tactile percussion, post-minimalist repetition, and dubwise abstraction, her performances collapse genre and geography. A vital presence in experimental music, Magaletti’s set promises a dynamic excursion into rhythm, resonance, and the outer limits of percussion and the so called drum kit. Presented in the beautiful main hall of the Carlton Church of All Nations. Tickets selling fast! ❤️

A contrapuntalist to digital automation, Iran Sanadzadeh joins Shackleton and Siddhartha Belmannu in a supportive solo performance for this Saturday nights Omniversal Hum, Kerfew and Miscellania collaboration show. Iran Sanadzadeh is a musician, composer and the designer of the Terpsichora pressure-sensitive Floors. Existing in the tradition of instrument building and design, Iran’s instrument depends on the negotiation of body weight against a mapped, pressure sensitive floor. Tactile performance at its core, when coupled with Iran’s intricate knack for sound design, the body becomes a shaper of timbre, pitch and textural multi-rhythm. This performance will be the first of its kind in the Miscellania space and suggestively dynamic on a club sound system. — Saturday, June 7 7pm - 3am Shackleton & Siddhartha Belmannu // @siddhartha_belmannu Iran Sanadzaneh Sarita McHarg //@mchargsarita DJ Mistry // @mrmistryy Kassie // @kassoy33 @kerfew_au @omniversal_hum@miscellania_ Painting by @m.a.m.a.s.o.l Design by @yl.hooi

Bass baddie 𝐊𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐞’s on closing duty for our big collab show with 𝐊𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐰 and 𝐎𝐦𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐮𝐦 on Saturday night -- wrapping up the dancefloor section of the night - pop through late for breezy $20 entry from 11.30pm. 𝐊𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐞 sensual sonic universe has continued to expand over the past few years as she's had her paws in a myriad of the cool new live music projects in Naarm - including Mimmie, Flame J, Who Cares?, and Destiny T.T. - all seeing her flex her authentic, true-to-self creative vision and dubwise flair. She nicely transitioned from DJ to live artist so smoothly it's easy to forget about the practice she's rooted in - that is, making asses and bassbins shake through selecting rude, dub-inflected left-field dance music. We've got Kassie back in DJ guise this Saturday, for a rare closing set from the community pillar and massive Shackleton head. Expect fresh tracks from across the BPM spectrum, with a mix of fun and menacing energy 👹 Less than 30% of presales left online. Door tickets from 7pm, cheaper after 11.30pm. --- Saturday, June 7 7pm - 3am Shackleton & Siddhartha Belmannu // @siddhartha_belmannu Iran Sanadzaneh DJ Mistry // @mrmistryy Kassie // @kassoy33 @kerfew_au@omniversal_hum Painting by @m.a.m.a.s.o.l Design by @yl.hooi

If there’s only one fan of Dj Mistry left in the world it’s us, so we’re so honoured to host him in Naarm as he voyages from his local town of Sydney to bind us within melodic, abrasive and cathartic selections on Saturday. Not many djs would have the chops to start a festival set with 11 minutes of voicemails and then back it up with static techno, trip hop and wubby dubstep, but Dj Mistry did just that at a recent set at Soma Festival that’s continued to haunt us in our sonic dreams. From playing at our very first Kerfew party in Eora, to falling deep into replays of his Nomad Radio show Detach and flirting with his recent collaboration on Warp and Weft, an event series tying the knots between live left field and club sounds, it’s easy to be blown away by Dj Mistry’s considered yet untamed approach to selection - his set supporting Shackleton (DE) and Siddhartha Belmannu (IND) at Miscellania promises to be another outing in Dj Mistry’s wonderful escapist world. @mrmistryy Photo credit: @otisbh Tickets selling fast 7 JUNE 2025 Cohosted with @miscellania_ and @omniversal_hum Tickets Link in Bio This event will be on the unceded lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to elders past and present and acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded. Miscellania is not a wheelchair accessible venue. Please get in touch for other access needs. First Nations guest come free, pls get in touch.

𝑆ℎ𝑎𝑐𝑘𝑙𝑒𝑡𝑜𝑛 is a veritable hero of bass music. His early roots were in the UK dubstep scene from the mid 2000s, as a producer and co-runner of seminal label '𝑆𝑘𝑢𝑙𝑙 𝐷𝑖𝑠𝑐𝑜' (alongside Appleblim). His set last year at Miscellania (video 2) was an all-time great show at the venue -- lean, percussive, polyrhythmic dance music that channels the ancient and the ecstatic. He'll return this Saturday night, co-presented by 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐚, 𝐊𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐰 and 𝐎𝐦𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐮𝐦, in a more left-field guise. In tone with his recent production, 𝑆ℎ𝑎𝑐𝑘𝑙𝑒𝑡𝑜𝑛's sound has extended outwards from its origins, with a highlight of his recent catalogue being the stellar North Indian Classical collaboration (video 3) with vocalist 𝑆𝑖𝑑𝑑ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑡ℎ𝑎 𝐵𝑒𝑙𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑛𝑢 and multi-instrumentalist experimenter Waclaw Zimpel. 𝑆𝑖𝑑𝑑ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑡ℎ𝑎 𝐵𝑒𝑙𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑛𝑢 (video 4) represents an anomaly in North Indian Classical music - a classically trained vocalist at the absolute zenith of his field who isn't wedded to the traditional contexts the music is performed in, and a desire to push the boundaries of the form. Considered a classical music prodigy, 𝑆𝑖𝑑𝑑ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑡ℎ𝑎 𝐵𝑒𝑙𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑛𝑢 and 𝑆ℎ𝑎𝑐𝑘𝑙𝑒𝑡𝑜𝑛's collaboration is nigh-unprecedented, to have two elite level artists from completely disparate fields working together to form a new exploratory whole. The duo have been developing a never-heard-before musical work, composed of electronics, drone, harmonium, and voice, to be premiered at Misc this Saturday night. Surreal!!! A night of listening-focused live sets before selectors 𝐷𝐽 𝑀𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑦 and 𝐾𝑎𝑠𝑠𝑖𝑒 take control of the wheel in the witching hours for a deep dance to end the night. Last few $25 early entry tickets available via Humanitix. Door sales all night, with cheaper $20 entry for the DJ-section of the night after 11.30pm. --- Sat Jun 7 7pm - 3am @kerfew_au @omniversal_hum @miscellania_ Shackleton & Siddhartha Belmannu (World Premiere) (live) Iran Sanadzaneh (live) Balu and the Moon (Balvinder Singh) (live) DJ Mistry // @mrmistryy Kassie // @kassoy33 Painting by @m.a.m.a.s.o.l and design by @yl.hooi

Misc again tours ritual bass luminary 𝑆ℎ𝑎𝑐𝑘𝑙𝑒𝑡𝑜𝑛 to return down under, this time launching a World Premiere collaboration with North Indian vocalist prodigy 𝑆𝑖𝑑𝑑ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑡ℎ𝑎 𝐵𝑒𝑙𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑛𝑢 - a performance of electronics, voice, and harmonium. Shackleton will play solo live shows at Sydney Opera House for 𝐃𝐔𝐍𝐉 and at Door84 in Meanjin (Brisbane) for 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐮𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬. The duo of Shackleton and Siddhartha Belmannu will launch their new collaboration at Miscellania, Naarm (Melbourne) co-presented by 𝐊𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐰, 𝐎𝐦𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐮𝐦, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐚; before wrapping up the tour with a show at 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐌𝐨𝐟𝐨 in Nipaluna (Hobart). A deep honour and privilege to host and tour two leading lights in their respective disparate fields, fusing together into an unexpected, new whole. <3 --- Fri May 30 // Shackleton live in Eora Nation (Sydney) at Sydney Opera House presented by @dunj_crew Sat May 31 // Shackleton live in Meanjin (Brisbane) at Door84 presented by dialogue_records Sat Jun 7 // Shackleton & Siddhartha Belmannu live in Naarm (Melbourne), at Miscellania presented by @kerfew_au @omniversal_hum @miscellania_ Sun Jun 8 // Shackleton & Siddhartha Belmannu live in Nipaluna (Hobart) at The Playhouse Theatre presented by @dark_mofo Flyer by @noapama
