This interdisciplinary group exhibition brings together eight artistic practices that explore the various facets of the need for protection and companionship. This deeply human longing does not appear here as a stable state, but rather as a fragile relationship between care and control, as well as security and threat. The different positions open up a shared dialogue that understands protection as a relational practice and formulates it as an open question regarding coexistence. This longing becomes palpable especially in a present where it seems as though something might take precedence over the right to protection. Herzliche Einladung zur Eröffnung der April Ausstellung „Everything Everything is alarmed“ im Rahmen unseres Jahresthemas „Gastfreundschaft“ Vernissage: 10.04., 18 – 21 Uhr Finissage: 24.04., 18 – 21 Uhr Workshop gemeinsam mit Shekeba Arabbay: tbd. Was passiert, wenn die Geste der Gastfreundschaft – Wärme, Offenheit und Großzügigkeit, ins Wanken gerät? Wenn man eingeladen ist zu bleiben, aber innerlich bereits auf dem Weg nach draußen ist? Der Ausgangspunkt der Ausstellung „Everything Everything is alarmed“ von Omid Arabbay @omidorbit und Shekeba Arabbay liegt genau in dieser Verschiebung, in dem Moment, in dem Gastfreundschaft nicht mehr nur als Angebot gelesen werden kann, sondern auch ein Spannungsfeld zwischen Bleiben und Gehen öffnet. Die Arbeiten innerhalb der Ausstellung bewegen sich entlang dieser Bruchlinie. Sie fragen nicht nur danach was es bedeutet zu empfangen, sondern auch danach was es heißt sich diesem Empfang zu entziehen oder entziehen zu müssen. Denn sie verhandeln Momente des Übergangs: das Zögern an der Tür, das Verweilen im Dazwischen, der Blick zurück, bevor man geht. Gastfreundschaft erscheint hier weniger als eine stabile Geste, sondern als ein fragiles Konstrukt, aus Erwartungen, Machtverhältnissen und individuellen Empfindungen. Der nachtspeicher23 wird somit selbst zu einem Ort dieser Ambivalenz, der einlädt und Fragen stellt. Ein Raum in dem das Ankommen und das Aufbrechen untrennbar miteinander verbunden sind. Places are not fixed, they are created and change through memory, longing, exclusion and belonging. At a time when connections to places seem increasingly complex and at the same time fragile, the question arises: How do places shape us - and how do we shape them? Eight artistic positions examine how places are conceived, negotiated and claimed and what traces they leave behind in us. With Omid Arabbay, Mina Barmani, Hande Emirmahmutoğlu, Lam Funke, Leonidas Kosmidis, Ida Nommerga, Yoav Perry, Aylin Scheer. Seen from the outside, there is often only a beginning, landscapes that pass by, places that change and decisions that have already been made. The in-between often remains on the inside. What we traverse, develop, transform and feel remains opaque and vague. In the exhibition, we try to approach these processes and create a network that links memories, identities, places and perceptions.
