Hard techno’s presence in Singapore continues to evolve - shaped by artists exploring its darker edges.
This week’s Artist Highlight turns to ØBSIDIAN, a selector whose journey began in trance before gradually moving toward the heavier territory of hard techno.
Drawing from styles such as Schranz and the darker Russian sound of Bochka, his sets often balance atmosphere with raw energy - building emotional tension before pushing into relentless momentum on the dancefloor.
Beyond performing, he is also one of the co-founders of O.M.E.N Underground, a platform created together with Chrysi to explore darker and harder expressions of techno while bringing together a growing underground community.
On 27 March, ØBSIDIAN will open the night at MDLR ahead of Junkie Kid - setting the tone before the energy builds deeper into the night.
