As a kid they would call @omararef ref a “chameleon”. It’s probably because he could adapt to anyone, anywhere. It honed an emotional creativity within him – perhaps without even him knowing it. It’s something that allows him to take his photography to another level.
“Friend first, photographer second,” he tells GQ Middle East. His approach is always the same: make people feel at ease, and the rest follows You won’t be surprised, then, to learn that he doesn’t really believe in playbooks when it comes to career advice.
Now based in Dubai, his work spans intimate portraits to shooting Real Madrid, J Balvin, Idris Elba, or Anthony Joshua. But for Aref, it’s never really about the names. Hit the link in bio to read more.
