Something like that is how the paraphrase goes to simply describe Tim Maia’s rationalization transformation. I would probably credit that to Allen Thayer (@the_ambassador77 ), but regardless Allen’s book is the best breakdown of these albums and Tim in this era that I’ve ever read (hat tip Allen!).

☀️ I try to make every set I play a different journey. I never want listeners to hear the same thing twice. A big part of that is where to start the journey. Playing a 4-hour set you have to build the night, set a course, and let the music take front and center.
This Friday at @onlyyoulounge I’ll be starting off the night with a Roy Ayers set. A few of my favorites, along with a few songs Roy’s music inspired over the years. From there, a trip though modern Brazilian beats and funk, some disco, some boogie, and some house. A musical journey.
