Heartwarming how many people came to our first release party! 🌋❤️
Thanks everyone for coming, thanks dj's Droom&DD, Sierk and Seutek for playing everything we wanted to hear after our liveset, thanks @timeisthenewspace for the venue and very special thanks to @radio_tornado for making all of this happen for us.
Check out our release on all streaming platforms and check our bio for a link to order a vinyl copy.
Familiar Music ♥️ Wolvenroedel was great fun. What a night.
It was refreshing to play something different for a change. The Radion basement turned out to be the perfect place to try something a bit more experimental.
Great to hear you guys liked it and to see all those happy, sweaty faces in front of us. This definitely tastes like more.
Full set is now up on SoundCloud. Enjoy 🪁

When we got to know each other better while forming Vesuvio Vortex, we were very surprised to discover that we have the same favourite film: 'Kung Fury'. 🌋💥
This absurd film by writer, director and lead actor David Sandberg (@laserunicorns ) is a parody of martial arts and police films from the 1980s. Because of this 80s vibe, it's not that surprising that we both love this film. Especially since the film music was composed by Mitch Murder and Lost Years (and one song performed by David Hasselhoff!).
@mitch.murder has also been included in our new mix on Soundcloud. Enjoy listening to it, and don't forget to watch Kung Fury (again) before Kung Fury 2 (finally) comes out!🌋🤚
Ahead of our upcoming EP, we’re releasing a second FREE download, dedicated to Joost de Jong — a dear friend who played a key role in bringing us together through music.
This track is our personal take on 'Love & Pride' by King, one of Joost’s all-time favorites. 'Love & Pride' was first released in 1984 and became a massive worldwide hit a year later.
Apart from a small piece of guitar riff, we didn't sample anything – everything was recreated in the Vortex of the Vesuvio, with our arpeggiated basslines and housy Italo–inspired drums. We abstained from using our own vocals for the singing parts, but when we play it live, we notice that the audience sings along anyway.
Special thanks to M.A. Spaventi mastering!
We’ve launched a new monthly mix series, Vulcanic Treasures from the Vortex, created in our studio in the harbour of Rotterdam. Each edition features tracks that inspire us, paired with visuals drawn from our own creative universe.
The image accompanying this release shows a vintage 1975 Spin-Out pinball machine, a Formula 1–themed electro-mechanical classic by D. Gottlieb & Co. With its bold racing artwork, metal ramps and retro score reels, it captures the golden age of pinball design. Known for pioneering the modern flipper, Gottlieb crafted Spin-Out with the distinctive sounds, lights and mechanics that made their seventies machines iconic—a true snapshot of pinball history. A restored example of this machine was recently sold at auction for 8,000 euros.

In anticipation of our upcoming EP ‘Danza Nel Vulcano’ on @radio_tornado records, we’re dropping two free downloads.
The first one is a loose interpretation of ‘Demon God’ by The Intergalactic Orchestra — a space horror disco record from 1979 and part of the album Supernova. We gave it our own twist, adding vocoders, brass stabs and Italo-ish basslines to spice it up.
Big thanks to @zeesierk for inspiring us to create this and @dennis.van.den.berg_dynamicd
for being the first to give the track airtime on his amazing operator radio show!

Some footage of our @dansplichtevents gig in @mono_rotterdam 💙 Thanks to all the friends, strangers (and enemies?) for dancing and vibing, and a special thank you goes out to @dj_jeroenski for sharing our favourite track of the moment with us. The track 'My Dance' that he and Vandenberg made in 1999 was unfindable, but he dug up his vinyl version and digitalised it for us. Check it out in the last slide. We'll definitely be playing it more often 😎 🪁
Our first live performance... Thanks @eendrachtfestival and everyone who was there! 🌋
Also very special thanks to @joost5000 for not only bringing us together, but also for practically forcing us to give up all of our spare time to do this live thing. ❤️
Check out our bio for upcoming gigs...
Onverwachts Wildeburg debuut met een onverwachtse b2b in een onverwachts genre.
Lekker geniepig kwajongensgedrag vertoond naar dansende (on)bekenden.
Special thanks naar @jeetjeninaaa en @aanisaan ❤️
