It’s time for cats to step into the spotlight 📸 For so long, dogs have taken center stage in the world of professional pet photography and storytelling. But anyone who has ever loved a cat already knows the truth… 🐾 Cats are art. 🐾 Cats are presence. 🐾 Cats leave marks on our lives that are quiet, powerful, and unforgettable. That’s why we created ✨The Fine Art Feline✨ A curated coffee table book project celebrating the expressive, artful cats of the Pacific Northwest while raising funds for Seattle Area Feline Rescue @seattleareafelinerescue and the incredible work they do to save feline lives. Selected cats will receive: 🐈‍⬛ custom fine art portrait experience 🐈‍⬛ two page spread feature in a museum-quality coffee table book created to honor the beauty, personality, and stories cats bring into our homes and hearts 🐈‍⬛access to additional artwork to display in their home Because this project is about more than photographs. It is about giving cats the same space to be seen, celebrated, and remembered. It is about creating artwork with purpose. And it is about using art to give back to cats still waiting for their forever homes. Participation is limited and applications are now open. If your cat has changed your life in ways only cat people truly understand, we would love to hear their story. 🐾 #catsofinstagram #catphotography #rescuefundraising @kirklandchamber #kirklandchamberofcommerce

Attention Kirkland, Seattle and beyond senior dog parents! For the devoted companions who have given us their best years, phone photos simply aren’t enough. ANCHOR is our love letter to the dogs who have walked beside us through seasons of life. To the wise ones, the silver-faced ones, the steady souls who anchor our families with their quiet devotion. 🤍 Olive and Fable’s fine art book will feature senior dogs from our local community, pairing their portraits with their stories, and a portion of every session will benefit The Grey Muzzle Organization @greymuzzleorg , supporting senior dogs in need across the country. If you love an older dog. If your heart belongs to a frosted face and gentle eyes. If you believe these chapters deserve to be remembered. We would be so grateful if you shared this post and helped us spread the word. Your share could be the reason a deserving senior dog is seen, celebrated, and preserved in this heirloom project. Applications are now open. Link in bio to learn more and apply. 🐾 @sonyalpha @kirklandchamber

Sometimes people hesitate to invest in portraits because they feel unnecessary. But so are many of the things that make life feel beautiful. The ring passed down through generations that you wear because it reminds you of someone you love. The garden you spend years cultivating so your home feels peaceful when you step outside. The artwork you chose not because you needed it, but because something in it felt like you. The little details that turn a house into a place filled with warmth, meaning, and memory. The most meaningful things in our lives are rarely chosen for practicality alone. We choose them because they make us feel connected, they hold emotion and remind us what matters. The animals we love become part of the soul of our homes. And preserving that love is not about having “nice photos.” It is about honoring a presence that shaped your life in ways words never fully could. It’s the little things. The things we see every day that slowly become part of who they are to us. The marking on their forehead. The way their tongue always hangs slightly out the same side of their mouth. The way the fur on the back of their head parts so perfectly it almost looks styled. Those are the details that matter. During our consultations, we talk about all the little things that make your pet feel unmistakably them. Not just how they look, but who they are in your life. Sometimes that means planning around a certain expression, a favorite command, a pose, or styling the session in a way that brings out their personality and spirit. Here is Benni and his perfectly parted little hairstyle. His mom had a vision for this portrait before we ever met, and we made sure to bring it beautifully to life. What about your pet would you want to capture? @sonyalphafemale #seattlephotographer #dogsofintagram

You probably already have hundreds of photos of your dog. Sleeping on the couch. Looking up at you from across the room. Covered in mud after an adventure. Curled into the same spot they always choose. Blurry, imperfect, beloved little pieces of everyday life. And those photos matter. But professional portraits are not meant to replace them. They are meant to do something different. Your phone photos remember moments. Fine art portraits remember who they are. The softness in their expression. The way they look at you like you are home. The quiet presence that fills your space every single day. The personality, dignity, warmth, and soul that have become woven into your life. Pet photography is often seen as something cute. Something fun. Something extra. Something you will get around to someday. But when an animal has carried you through heartbreak, loneliness, change, healing, growing up, and becoming who you are… preserving them stops feeling unnecessary. Because in the end, these portraits become more than photographs. They become a way of saying: You mattered deeply here. You shaped this life beside me. You were loved so fully, you became  art. Here is Adele showcased as the funny and classy lady she is ❤️ @bigbadscarypitbulls @sonyalphafemale #seattlephotographer #dogsofinstagram

“I’ll do it later” is something we tell ourselves when we are not ready to admit time is moving. Because in so many ways, they still feel the same. They still wait for you at the door. Still follow you from room to room. Still curl into their favorite spot beside you at night. Still look at you like you are the safest thing they have ever known. So it becomes easy to believe there will be more time. More walks. More ordinary mornings. More chances to finally book the session you have been thinking about for years. Until one day, you notice the grey around their face. The slower steps. The way age quietly arrived while you were busy loving them. And suddenly, the photographs stop feeling optional. Not because your pet changed. But because you realize this chapter will not last forever. We are often told photographs preserve memories. But sometimes, they preserve the season of life we are still standing inside before it becomes something we can only look back on. That is why these portraits matter. Not because life is ending, because it is happening now. Benni, one of our ANCHOR participants. We had to triple check with his mom that he is truly a senior ❤️ check him put on the video in the last slide. @sonyalphafemale #dogofinstagram #seattlepetphotographer

Rainier came into her mom’s life as a lanky little puppy and somehow became the steady presence through nearly every chapter that followed. First homes, heartbreaks, growing into adulthood… she has been there through it all with the same loyal eyes and her beloved ball never too far away. Some dogs teach us about childhood. Others walk beside us as we become who we are. Rainier is one of those dogs. For her ANCHOR session, she arrived proudly wearing her “Ball Is Life” tag with her favorite ball placed right in front of her, a small detail that says everything about who she is. The things they love become part of the story we never want to forget. As we continue photographing the senior dogs of ANCHOR, we are reminded that these portraits are about preserving the quiet pieces of a life shared together. The favorite toy. The familiar look. The presence that shaped a home and a heart. #seattlephotographer #dogsofinstagram #dogphotography What would your dog bring to their photoshoot?

We had the honor of being part of an incredible event that brought together local businesses united by one thing: a love for dogs and a shared mission to raise funds for the amazing work of Old Dog Haven. We had the chance to meet and photograph the runway models and witness the moment each pup saw their couture outfit, beautifully created by Wagness Fashions, for the very first time in our studio. As special as the portrait sessions were, the true highlight was getting to photograph the event itself at Ederer Hall and watch these wonderful dogs proudly strut their couture looks for such a meaningful cause. Seeing so many passionate businesses come together to make this event possible was something truly special. Thank you to Posh Pet Sitter & Sugar + Bubbles Co. for creating such a beautiful event and for allowing us to be part of it. And thank you to Wagnes for the incredible work you do. We are completely in awe of your talent, creativity, and the love you pour into every piece for these dogs. And the biggest thank you of all goes to Old Dog Haven for the extraordinary work you do for senior dogs. Thank you for giving them the chance to spend their golden years surrounded by love, comfort, and the dignity every dog deserves. Happy Dog Mom’s Day to the women who became home to a dog. To the ones still hearing paws across the floor behind them, and to the ones who now carry that love quietly in memory. There is something deeply moving about the way dogs look at their mothers. Not just with love, but with complete certainty. As if, in a world they do not fully understand, they somehow know they have found the place they were always meant to belong. The look that says, without words, “I am home.” We are so lucky we get to be a part of the celebration of that bond with you by capturing images that honor it. Here are two gorgeous girls, Adele and her mom reminding us of a bond like no other. #kirklandpetphotographer #petphotography #dogsofinstagram @sonyalphafemale

Meet Champion. This little guy is so incredibly loved and what he lacks in height he makes up for in cool sneaks! As soon as I saw his dad’s tattoos and the way Champion settled in his arms I knew we had to create something beautiful to showcase their bond! We got to meet Champion this past weekend as part of our Posh Pet Couture Fashion Show pre show photo sessions at our studio. We got to have a preview of all of the incredible couture looks by @wagnes_wagfashion and got to photograph the fashion show participants. Wait until you see Champion’s couture look! Can’t wait to see you May 9th! If you have not grabbed your tickets yet go to @poshpetsitter for the link! #seattlepetphotographer #kirklandphotographer #dogsofinstagram @intuitionbackgrounds black bird @sonyalphafemale

There are dogs who come into your life quietly… And then there are dogs like Jake. Seventeen years ago, he arrived as an anxious, overwhelmed young dog who just needed one thing more than anything else to not be left behind. He would break through barriers, claw through walls, even find his way onto the roof just to stay close to his humans. They wondered how the would ever help him function in his new environment. It would have been easy to walk away. But they didn’t. They chose him fully and that choice shaped everything that came after. With time, patience, and love, Jake softened into something steady. Loyal. Gentle. Constant. He grew alongside his family through every chapter, becoming their shadow, their first baby, big brother to two human siblings, their constant. At 17, he still stays close. A little slower now… but no less devoted. Jake is one of our ANCHOR participants whose story has truly moved us. Alongside Boomer, Eevee, and three other ANCHOR dogs whose stories we will be sharing next, he will be part of something we are quietly working on behind the scenes. This is what ANCHOR is about. The dogs we choose for the long haul and who, in return, become everything. We are still reviewing applications and accepting new ones for ANCHOR. We are blown away by what this project is becoming and we are so honored to be chosen to capture the legacy of these amazing dogs. #kirklandpetphotographer #seattlepetphotographer #dogsofinstagram @sonyalpha @sonyalphafemale #sonyalpha #sonyalphafemale @kirklandchamber
