Join mosey and Oli Sansom for Northside Design Ride — a leisurely cycling tour of Melbourne’s most creative neighbourhoods and the designers, artists, and makers whose passion and presence make these neighbourhoods truly special.
Saturday 23 May, 9am–12pm
Oli Sansom’s internationally awarded photography has been featured in the New York Times, Vogue Australia, Martha Stewart and the fridges of countless relatives (or tight-knit neighbours), commissioned by art-lovers worldwide to document important moments honestly on some days, and everything from expeditions to the South Pole to directing hip-hop music videos on the others.
Originally enjoying a ten year career in design and branding, Oli began as an illustrator, inevitably touching all of the disciplines of copywriting, music composition, voice-acting, animation and more, inside the walls of advertising agencies. On picking up a camera though, the pencil was put down, and he was hooked: an obsession with a blank sheet of paper quickly transitioned into an obsession with seeing seemingly benign things in beautiful ways, and in the process, swapping out giant bombastic moments with teams, for intimate & meaningful exchanges with individuals.
Oli will open the morning with a brief workshop on the art of film, the beauty of light, and the joy of capturing the imperfect and unpredictable. Each participant will be provided with a disposable film camera to document their experience throughout the ride — cameras can be submitted at the end, with development included in the ticket price.
We’ve trusted Oli with some of our most precious moments — he photographed our wedding, a week in Paris with our families — and we couldn’t be more excited to have him on the ride.
