Caught up with the bro about half an hour before and ran it past him as my original idea fell through. Kept it as a simple conversation and shared a few laughs. Unfortunately had to cut 20mins of footage down to under 3minutes but the story was told. This guy has the ability to make things look easy. The athleticism and flair are part of his DNA, so he made this interview a breeze. Vinaka! @marknawaqa

While everyone was watching the players run out, I’m watching this guy. He and I, once lived together and shared the NRL dream. Ours paths were very different and his story is not mine to tell. But when I turn around and see my bro standing there, camera in his hand, head of media for the @sydneyroosters . I got emotional. You never know what life has in store, God is good. Haven’t seen my boy for 15 years. Love you Leki ❤️103 for life ✊🏽 @olis90__ #nrl #rugbyleague #brothers #reunited #explorepage✨

Witnessed my first smoking ceremony for both NRL and NRLW and admired the tradition and significance it has on First Nations peoples. I was fortunate enough to finish my high school years at Matraville Sports High and was also a firefighter in Redfern. Both had strong aboriginal ties and connections and being Samoan I felt like we had a few similarities. However I had heard many stories of the stolen generation and couldn’t really fathom it. Over time I learnt a bit more about the pain and suffering they endured and came to understand their perspective and stance on the world and their experience is one I will never be able to relate to. The indigenous community will be celebrated in NRL and NRLW over the next couple of weeks and capturing this ceremony is something I will hold dearly.

One of the most rewarding parts of my job is capturing moments like this. Watching the uso @benaiah.ioelu make his debut alongside Xavier Vaa @xav.vaa was something special. What I admire most about these young men is their unwavering faith and the way they consistently honour God as the foundation of their journey, no matter where their careers take them.

Growing up my brother and I would always watch music videos every Saturday morning before footy. Now I get to make them 🎥
