Thank you to everyone who bought the ditty bag! I spent the last week and a half sewing all the bags as well as making the custom boxes for them. It took way longer than I expected especially because of the volume of things I had to do. I ended up breaking the teeth of my sewing machine but the good news is that it happened once I finished the last bag. Loved hand delivering them to all of you. Enjoy the bag!

I’ve spent more time than I care to admit turning a trash bag into a fashion statement. The result?
I call it The Ditty Bag. It’s perfect for carrying your essential rubbish. Use it however you want—sling it, wear it like a backpack, shoulder carry, I made it do it all.

You signed up for a life of a digital sailor.
As you embark on your creative journey,
You must remember it’s no regular trip.
Living on the boat, surrounded by water and salt.
The ocean is indifferent, has a mind of its own.
Your responsibility is to embrace the sea,
To take care of your ship,
And to stay sane.
You are now at the mercy of the water.
Will you sink or will you swim?

Embracing Autonomy: My Journey to Self-Sufficiency Through Experience, Reflection, and Insight. In this reflective piece, I delve into my journey towards becoming an independent designer. Through a framework of Experience, Reflection, and Insight, I explore the valuable lessons learned from facing challenges head-on. This narrative addresses key questions such as: • How can setbacks serve as opportunities for growth? • What role do patience and self-reflection play in overcoming obstacles? • How can breaking down tasks and maintaining well-being habits enhance productivity and creativity?
Join me as I share the highs and lows of my path to autonomy, illustrating how each hurdle contributes to our development.
CASHMERE COWBOY COAT
My final creation in school was a fully upcycled, 100% cashmere coat. Initially, it was an intimidating project for me, considering my limited experience with upcycling. Moreover, I had to work with very high-quality cashmere coats, each costing roughly $1,000. The design went through many iterations and tweaks throughout the semester. I had to learn to work with limited resources and be extremely careful with measuring and sewing, as there was no room for mistakes. This was one of the most impactful experiences that changed the way I work and shifted my perspective on upcycling.

Very grateful to have had the opportunity to work on this project, thank you to Antoine and @collegelasalle for making this happen.
Doing some more visual exploration, this time trying to narrow down into more tangible details. Sailors who go out into the ocean are a parallel to a person going out into the world. You are at the mercy of the ocean (nature) when you’re out there, all you can do is prepare/maintain your ship (method of transport) and brace yourself. I admire how brave that is, even more so in the past, think 1700s.
Another parallel is the pirates, those who chase the treasures and practically live on the sea. Despite being criminals, they never break their own code, they follow it to a T. They created their own world with their own rules.
