I like to think I’m not easily influenced but on occasion I am because human,allegedly.In November of 2021 my envy and despair at not having a wood burning stove or fireplace reached foot stamping and deep sighing proportions.All of a sudden a blinding flash of inspiration struck,why does it have to be a working fireplace,when I really just want a mantlepiece to play with and cosy flames to look at. Lightening didn’t strike twice yesterday and result in me getting on with project ‘Why am I doing this’. Instead I waddled around the market buying veg and gossiped at the flower stall,it’s essential to keep up with the hood’s comings and goings obvs. Apparently it’s summer this week in GB,someone forgot to tell the temperature on Betty’s business walk, but my cankles are more crackling than Peppa now I’ve fake tanned,every cloud. This morning I’m going on a walk to the park,on the way back I’m going on a lobelia hunt and to get the hell hound weighed at the vet’s. This afternoon I’m starting the project unless it’s sunny which will require me lounging about in chip fat,fake tan only looks good on top of a sun-kissed glow as opposed to uncooked pork-current reality. I haven’t actually checked the forecast so am probably being overly optimistic,as I wrote this the sun disappeared. There was a miraculous moment in the asylum yesterday when a bolt of energy zapped me into action,I tiled the sink unit and bathroom shelf. Well I know peel and stick isn’t exactly tiling in the true sense of the word but it’s as close as I’m ever getting. I was influenced by the marvellous @lindsaystewartdotcom to buy an LED shell lamp from @amazon ,as soon as I laid eyes on it it was in my basket. Much as I love a green and white tulip I can’t help thinking they look like brussel sprouts in a bud vase,incongruous in a bathroom but they’re my favourite veg and the colours work so here we are. Today I’m definitely going to visit my local farmers market,I love the communality it provides plus delicious food. It was sunny on the business walk now it’s gloomy but as long as it’s dry I don’t mind. Yesterday and the day before we experienced the most bipolar weather ever seen,virtually every hour was a costume change,so I stayed in plotting and scheming. I conjured up two glow ups,vaguely started planning one of them to do later once my dance card has freed me up again. I may have overdone the boudoir plants but of course I want more,at this age I need the oxygen. One of my oldest and therefore long suffering friends is coming over with the task of creating a short workout with weights specifically for me. He’s very brave because I detest exercise although I’m an Olympian at fork to mouth. I’m halfway through a deflate the sphere mission so I have to force myself to move more to jiggle less. Despite the heating going back on yesterday,there was a tantalising sunburst effect turning the Absinthe Parlour into a nuclear reactor glow fest. I’ve just returned from Betty’s business walk,the sun is out but it’s winter temperatures again. As I waddled around the square shivering,I thought I’ll be livid when it’s really humid and my Jewfro becomes damp pot noodles. Today is dog grooming day which means Captain Chaos and I go out for breakfast in Chiswick until the powder puff is ready to be collected. Aren’t Calla Lillie’s stunning-not a question-this corner is one of my favourite views from the sofa because I still absolutely love that side table. The plant was a gift for my old age day,plus pretty Calathea and some fabulous trailing strawberries I need to plant today were also gratefully received. As you can see my Nom de Guerre has been kindly etched on two items lest I forget my identity. We had a very jolly time because as one of my friends remarked,I have a really lovely group friends,quality not quantity is my advice for everything in life other than cake,cheese and dogs. Today I’m waddling to Fulham to visit a friend in hospital then I need to shop for the imperative items I completely forgot to add to my grub delivery because old. It’s never this cold on my birthday who do I send a complaint to please.Apart from the weather I’m genuinely happy to have survived another year intact. Yesterday I gave Betty a bath,she’s going to the groomer on Tuesday but she needed a pre groom wash as she’ll be partying later. My pre birthday flower gift from the fabulous flower stall @annies_yard_floralfusiondesign on Earls Court Road. I adore Muscari especially a voluptuous bunch of them adorning the faux fireplace. In other news,I’m listening to the most fascinating book called London Falling read by the author Patrick Radden Keefe. It’s making me look at my hometown London with a very different narrowed eye,so easy to coast along not peering beneath the facade,highly recommend reading it,or listening if like me you can’t sit still. Today feels slightly warmer so in the garden I’ll be found weeding all the grass and sycamore sprouts out of my pots.
