Forged and finished! I designed this three-piece fireplace tool set to be tucked against a wall—both space-efficient and substantial. It was a little fussy getting the weight and visual balance right. I ended up taking off the original tool hooks and redoing them, so they extended a little bit more. Except for a few minor tweaks, this compact fireplace set is about finished. I literally ran out of gas and need to do a collar around the base and tweak the flower finial once I get my oxygen tank filled up. New technique for me: making the flower out of a giant industrial washer. Write in time: I enjoyed a little digression down memory lane and finally mounted this collection of pencils used by my daughters during our 14 years of homeschooling. The backing is old roofing from our barn…another sentimental journey. Those chew marks on the pencils? Definitely math-related. 😆 Kind of goofy to have kept these short, broken-tipped writing utensils all these years, but I am glad I did. Gonna hang this where we worked together—so proud that my girls did all-write. 💛
