i pitched the story to three of my cousins and they sat listening, for a second i thought i’d lost them, that whatever i was saying was rubbish. i finished, and the reaction was, “i’m binge watching this when it happens!”
i’m just putting this here, so when happens, i’ll come back to these memories, and i’ll joyfully proclaim, “look at what GOD did!”
may we all ‘graduate’, with ease, into the promises of GOD.

I’M WRITING AGAIN - 001
Today, I caught up with colleagues who attend my church and soon discovered that one of them has written six or so books.
One thing writers will do is talk about writing. Although the conversation wasn’t long, it was long enough to bring a joyous smile to my heart and face. Today, I realised how much telling stories makes me feel so good!
Between pleading prayers for a new story, belonging conversations, and sudden inspiration, I’m glad to be writing again (almost, kinda, sort of), considering I haven’t written anything “creative” since 2022 (except the conference agendas I’ve written for work, and the ROUGHEST, MOST GHETTO first draft Episode 1 of Something For The Boyz).
I can’t wait for you to meet Omolara (again)… backstory later.

In conclusion, “I can do hard things and do them excellently.” These words have been on repeat in my mind since we ended the fourth edition of GITEX AFRICA, a week ago. Stepping into the role of conference lead for one of our largest shows has been a whirlwind and worthwhile experience.

Trusting God that “mine will be different”, even when my reality contradicted my belief. (Indeed God answered).
I can do hard things, like
Reminding God of His promises to me,
Promises I could never imagine to make to myself.
I can do hard things,
Hard things through Christ who strengthens me
Hard things because the power of the Spirit that raised Christ to life dwells within me, giving life to my mortal body, knowing that all things work together for the good of those who love the LORD and are called according to His purpose for them.
Hard things, because it is His will that these hard things refine and make me more like Him—the Christ—who did the hardest thing in history.
I can do hard things because Christ is with me.

Years ago, I remember referencing this scripture in a conversation with a friend. She was surprised to learn it was in the Bible. I don’t remember the full context of our discussion, but it definitely involved needing more money. I mean, we were students at the time, enjoying a cheeky Nandos at the mall near campus, so the conversation sounds about right.
What I like about these verses is that Agur, the author of this chapter, is asking God for help to live an honest and content life. He is praying to experience ‘enough’.
Many of us aren’t content with what we have or who we are. And yes, it could be God ruffling your feathers a little for a good and holy cause. But let’s be honest with ourselves: Have our desires for more been fueled by God’s gentle push or our demanding pull?
Again, this is a personal assessment for you to make, but I pray we all reach a place where we can utter these verses as a prayer and, indeed, mean it.
And, of course, should the LORD bless you with ‘excess’, today is the perfect time to ask Him how to use it. To your prayer, you could say, “LORD, thank you for exceeding my needs. With the surplus You’ve given me, tell me what to do with it.”
In conclusion, may our contentment flow from our relationship with Christ because He puts everything in its rightful place.
For real, for real—the LORD is enough.
