This right here is what truly lights me up, speaking to people who dare to look at the future and dream. There is a quiet, heavy power in a room full of minds that refuse to settle.
About 3 months ago, I had the privilege of returning to my alma mater to speak with the freshers and walking into that space felt like looking right back at my own beginning, the uncertainty, the hunger.
I shared the reality of my journey and exactly how I navigated life as a student. Seeing my own beginning flash before my eyes in that room hit me in a completely different way. It reminded me of why it’s important to live a life that outlives you.
Because at the end of the day, personal success is too small a goal. It isn’t enough to just build a life for yourself. It’s about pouring out so intentionally that your life becomes a living reference point, a place where others can look, draw strength, and find the exact fuel they need to build their own.
Thank you @the.genznurse for this piece. ❤️
Success doesn’t respond to how you feel. It responds to what you do.
Don’t bank your life on emotions or sentiments. Your goals aren’t respecters of wishful thinking. They only care about the work you actually put in.
If you want the results, you have to commit to the discipline, even on the days when the “feeling” isn’t there.
Happy International nurses week to my professional colleagues across the globe. ❤️
Lately, I’ve been thinking about the ‘box’ we tend to get stuck in. Between the grueling shifts, the exhaustion that comes with being on the front lines, it’s easy to let the profession consume your entire identity.
The truth is, we will always have excuses, the long hours, the burnout, the “not enough time.” If we wait for the perfect moment to nurture the other parts of who we are, we’ll be waiting forever. There really is no better time to start building.
You are more than the tasks you perform, you are more than your shift.
To the nurse who is also an entrepreneur, the researcher who is a community builder, and the clinician who is a strategic leader, own the space you’re building.
May we be the type of nurses who amplify our impact, uphold our integrity even when the system is under pressure, lead with substance, ensuring our voices are heard in the rooms where the most critical decisions are made.
To every student and licensed nurse, I hope you always remember you’re a powerhouse of skills, resilience, critical thinking, and empathy that the world needs in every sector.
Keep growing. Keep building. Keep leading.
Cheers! 🥂
You can only lead others as far as you’ve led yourself. If you haven’t submitted to the discipline, integrity, and growth you demand from your team, your leadership is merely a facade of authority.
So, quick story.
Two days before the event, The Olushola @the_olushola had a brief live session.
He said the sponsors provided 3 free tickets, and all we had to do was give an elevator pitch.
Those who joined the live knew how highly competitive it was. And just as he was done giving out the tickets, rounding off his live, he called my name from the comments and asked that I reach out to the team for my ticket.
I am grateful to Olushola for the opportunity to be in the room.
I am extremely grateful for all the beautiful expression from his beautiful mind.
Despite his colossal feat, he is such a humble man, the way he received me humbled me in no small way.
This moment right here was one of my major highlight from the conference, and as the grateful girl that I am, I went with tees from my brand @shays.hub_
Grateful for men like The Olushola who keep showing us what’s possible. Our results will wow you🤩
What I experienced is beyond what ‘thank you’ can suffice, but please tag him in the comments and tell him thank you.
Thank you @peace_moyinoluwa for recording this moment. 😊❤️
