Reflecting on my 2020 piece, "Meta Ark," which was inspired by the biblical story of Noah's Ark. Just as Noah built an ark to save and preserve life, this artwork features a car that acts as a modern ark. It rescues scraps from being discarded and transforms them into symbolic animals and objects, giving them new life and meaning. This piece embodies creativity and revival. There is a lot of uncertainty regarding the utilisation of Gaussian splat, but just like photogrammetry, which is used extensively for games, films and digitising cultural heritage, Gaussian splat seems to be converging on the same utilisation.
In this video, a sculpture by Nigerian metal sculptor Oladele Ogbeyemi @oladeleogbeyemi is generated using both approaches and placed side by side for preview.
