It was a premiere in Ukraine of “Couture” by Alice Winocour with our
@dear.ratner in it.
For us it was so natural to expect a wave of proud acknowledgement of Ukraine in it! Meaning, guys, it’s not that often Ukrainians are on the same stage with world-known names, keeping real-life patriotism in deeds. Yet, for most local fashion magazines it was important to write about what Angelina was wearing… So just few for us now left acknowledged as «Ukrainian media» and “alive”.
@elle_ukraine thank you for making a difference with an interview.
So, being Ukrainians, we celebrated, watching Ratner on Paris premiere, wearing
@bevza and
@cherva_brand ; we celebrated, watching her in a movie, saying what so many of us do daily – “at least two walls…”; seeing her face reacting, hearing “because of a w
@r ...”, because Ukrainians know what the hell does that mean. And for us it means – the world will see and hear it, too.
The modeling industry is so wrapped in myths that we finally have a film we can refer to, one that testifies to the truth and unveils the behind-the-scenes reality of very real women.
Ratner is there herself, - honest and strong, sensitive and mature. She is supporting without pressure. Knowing well models life from inside she drops just some words, but those are what’s exactly needed to spare years for a newcomer, not to mention just enable keep doing the first steps on the path.
For us it is major in so many ways, it’s hard to put it all in a short Insta post. What impresses the most – it is filmed so brilliantly, that you verbally live alongside there. Actors don’t “play” – they transit meanings, feelings, values, choices. Their stories interlace and give a deep feeling of a “small world”.
Just go and see it yourself.
We want to thank
@evnblgr , Ratner’s booker, who brought her into cinema-world. And
@alicewinocour for her incredible talent and deep sense of life values and women’s nature.
Dear girls, women and just people, please, notice – fashion might be your profession, but it’s you, who make it. Not the other way. “It’s all in your hands” as Ratner say.
