OKO DJ - Live performance Creating a costume that finds a balance between sci-fi warrior and sound priestess, grounded but ethereal, allowing physical movement and her playing of instruments was such a fun journey. Through draping and drawing I got to the final design, a hyper-adorned work-wear uniform topped with a transparent silky ruffled cloud. Happy to share some of our studio moments with OKO finding and sharing the shapes, materials, tailoring techniques and garment elements. 🫧🪼🫧

In our interview, the French DJ and producer Marine Tordjemann told us that she documents the fragments of her dreams, which can serve as the “compositional seeds” of her music. Her newest album as @okodj_ , ‘As Above, So Below,’ out now on @stroom.tv flows with its own hallucinatory logic. The record is anchored by Tordjemann’s vocals, which switch from spoken to sung, raw to processed, and float over a bed of jazzy, dubby music that evades simple diagnosis. Spring is finally here, and so is my last episode of The Twisted Dream Diary on @nts_radio The soundctrack was inspired by this dream: A mare steps closer, her muzzle brushing my sleeve. Not seeking, just stating presence. I let my thoughts quiet, and something simple passes between us—no words, just weight and warmth. She does not wait for seasons to change. “What can we expect from your live set at memòri?” we asked French-born, Athens-based @okodj_ . “Could you share some sound snippets with us – just enough to tell a story, give us a glimpse into the essence of your sound?” So, here’s the story. – The hyperactive artist blends rituals, poetry and industrial textures into a live performance at the crossroads of sound and ceremony – soaked in psychedelic downtempo, hallucinatory post-rock and nebulous trip-hop. Chinese gongs, singing bowls and flutes intertwine with vocal explorations to address the themes closest to her heart: magic, life, death and spirituality. Off stage, she created PU$$Y NIGHTMARE, a series of events exploring the link between instrumental and electronic music, highlighting artists from diverse and established backgrounds. The project aims to (re)place spirituality at the heart of the party through an opening ritual she guides before each event. She has also been composing music since 2020, from her “Dans les Lunes EP” on Futur 2010, to her first album “As Above, So Below”, released in 2025 on STROOM. Photo © Camille Cornillon
