Work the Runway returns August 7, 2026; but this year, we’re doing things a little differently…👀
If you’ve attended before, you already know the magic: local stylists transforming thrifted finds from Goodwill Central Oklahoma into one-of-a-kind runway looks that celebrate sustainability, style, and second chances — all with the help of our incredible employee models.
This year keeps everything you love about Work the Runway: the high-energy runway show, the stunning stylist transformations, and a celebration of Goodwill’s impact across Central Oklahoma.
But we’re adding an exciting twist.
For the first time ever, we’re introducing a student designer competition featuring emerging talent from the University of Central Oklahoma.
As Goodwill Central Oklahoma celebrates 90 years of impact, these rising creatives will design original looks using Goodwill-sourced materials — inspired by our Glam for Good theme in honor of the organization’s 90th anniversary.
Students will spend the next several months developing their designs with guidance and feedback from a panel of local fashion industry judges. Their finished looks will debut on the runway at Work the Runway this August.
The winning student will receive a $10,000 scholarship and a feature in Luxiere Magazine, while guests at the event will vote for a People’s Choice Award, earning another designer a $5,000 scholarship.
We’re thrilled to give these students the opportunity to showcase their creativity while highlighting the power of upcycling materials from our stores while celebrating 90 years of Goodwill Central Oklahoma and the life-changing mission behind the event.
Don’t miss the runway where fashion meets purpose. 💙

Guided by integrity, Matthew believes in doing the right thing even when no one is watching, a value reflected in his team’s honesty and dedication.
“The times we’ve found money in a donation, the employees [at Matthew’s store] have always turned it in, and shows to me that they have been taught the value of integrity. And that starts with the leadership: that starts with Matthew.”
With an open-door approach and a focus on his teammates over recognition, Matthew leads by example. He is empowering employees, supporting his community, and helping give millions of pounds of donated goods a second chance.

Our Achiever of the Year: Darrien Comstock 💙
Darrien brings creativity, heart, and determination to everything she does. We are honored to highlight her powerful work for Goodwill Week.
Darrien is the perfect example of what hard work looks like; and she utilizes her drive to uplift her team and changing lives far beyond the workplace.
“[My team] makes it worth it to come here every day. It feels like someone’s in your corner and that somebody is there to fight for you. The word achiever means to me somebody that goes for it and does it all. No matter what is in their way, no matter what the obstacle is, they just push and push and fight their way to get through to that.”
Once held back by self-doubt, she’s grown into a confident achiever who pushes through any obstacle and makes those around her feel seen, valued, and supported.
To her team, she’s more than a coworker. She’s family, a champion in their corner, and proof of what’s possible when someone believes in you. Congratulations on being the Goodwill Central Oklahoma Achiever of the Year!
We are so proud of the work Darrien is doing. Join us in celebrating her! 🫶
Since 1936, when Goodwill Central Oklahoma was established, we've helped Oklahomans overcome challenges to employment through job training, building digital literacy skills for a changing workforce, and offering second chance employment to those who need it.
Goodwill Week was created with the intention of shining a light on the Goodwill mission: helping people transform their lives through the Power of Work®.
For 90 years, our Core Values have been woven into what we do: Commitment, Integrity, Innovation, and Respect are the pillars that Goodwill Central Oklahoma have been founded on. Each year, we recognize employees that exemplify these values in their actions and their work. Through peer nominations, Goodwill Central Oklahoma employees are recognized for their dedication to Goodwill's mission.
This year, to celebrate Goodwill week and our 90th year in Oklahoma, we're sharing our Core Value Award winners and their stories with pride—they not only exemplify our values—they add meaning to our mission through the work they do every day.
Happy Goodwill Week 💙
