@eunahleedp was our dope female DP, my efficient af AD Devonte, and I even had a young woman 2nd AC, the awesome

Im excited because one of my big goals is to break into episodic directing, and this piece will surely help show what I can do and what I bring to a script. And with our INSANE cast

@LamarKCheston I had a much easier job doing that. Choices, nuanced performances and collaboration was what they all brought.
The entire team showed up and brought their time, talents and hearts into the game. Production will production, but the truth about challenges is that they always show up. However what you do with them is the measure of your worth. And collectively, we crushed it. Every hand was necessary and every heart was in it to tell Al's story and honor his family, as well as to showcase our respective gifts.
I'm walking away with a host of thoughts and feelings, but also a new confidence in my voice and ability as a director. Along with new tools for being a better leader, internal assessment of some places I can adjust and tighten up to be more effective moving forward, and so much respect for fearlessness.
And as we walk into post, I do it with care, love, vision, and excitement to lend to a powerful piece that highlights male vulnerability, and resilience, as well as Black family love.
I'm very grateful to Wink and Al for having me. And can't wait to play again on what may be next.
