✈️ Building the Future of Aviation in Africa
Attending the AFRAA event was more than just being present — it was an opportunity to experience the future of aviation in Africa.
Being surrounded by industry leaders, professionals, and organizations working towards building a sustainable MRO ecosystem in Africa was truly inspiring.
It made one thing very clear:
Africa’s aviation industry is growing, and the future will be shaped by those who are ready to learn, adapt, and contribute.
As a BSc Aviation Management and Operations student at Ethiopian Aviation University, moments like this give me a deeper understanding of the industry beyond the classroom.
It’s not just about studying aviation — it’s about being part of conversations that are shaping its future.
Grateful for the exposure, the learning, and the opportunity to connect with professionals in the field.
The journey is just beginning.

✈️ This Is Where It All Began
Sometimes, the biggest decisions in life don’t make sense to everyone.
There was a time I was working in #Kuwait.
I had a job. I had stability. I had comfort.
But deep down, I knew something was missing.
I had a #dream.
A dream to be part of the #aviation industry.
So I made a decision that many people wouldn’t understand…I left my job and took a step into the unknown.
I came to Ethiopia.
I came to start again.
I came to learn.
I came to build a future in aviation.
And this place Ethiopian Aviation University became the starting point of that journey.
From the outside, it’s just a school.
But for me, it represents sacrifice, courage, and purpose.
It represents choosing growth over comfort. It represents believing in a vision even when the path is not clear.
Today, as a BSc Aviation Management and Operations student, I am not just chasing a degree.
I am building a #future.
Every class, every training, every experience here is a step closer to the industry I have always dreamed of being part of.
✈️
To anyone thinking of taking a bold step toward their dreams:
It may not be easy.
It may not be comfortable.
But it will be worth it.
Because sometimes, you have to leave what is good…to pursue what is great.
What is one decision you made that changed your life?

✈️ Why People Who Enter Aviation Rarely Leave
Have you ever noticed something about people who work in aviation?
Once they enter the industry… they rarely leave.
It doesn’t matter if someone becomes a pilot, engineer, ground crew, dispatcher, or works in aviation management. Aviation has a unique pull. People may change roles, airlines, or even countries, but leaving the industry completely is rare.
Why?
Maybe it’s the environment. Airports and hangars are never truly quiet. There is always movement, coordination, responsibility, and a schedule that must be respected.
Maybe it’s the teamwork. Few industries rely so heavily on trust, communication, and precision between professionals.
Or maybe it’s the challenge.
In aviation, learning never stops. There are always new procedures, new aircraft, new technologies, and new responsibilities.
Somewhere between the sound of engines, the pressure of operations, and the satisfaction of a job done right… people realize something important.
They are exactly where they belong.
As a BSc Aviation Management and Operations student at Ethiopian Aviation University, I’m still at the beginning of my journey, but moments like this remind me why aviation is more than just a career.
It’s a passion.
It’s a mindset.
And for many of us, it becomes a lifelong path.

In Aviation, Teamwork Isn't Optional - It's Essential
Sometimes the most valuable lessons in aviation don’t come from textbooks.
They come from teamwork.
During one of our classroom activities at Ethiopia Aviation University, we were given a simple task that required coordination, communication, and patience. At first glance, it looked easy. But once we started, we quickly realized that success depended on how well we worked together.
Everyone had a role.
Everyone had to focus.
Everyone had to communicate clearly.
It reminded me that aviation is not just about aircraft or technology. It is about people working together with precision and trust.
In the aviation industry, no one works alone. Pilots, air traffic controllers, ground operations teams, engineers, and managers all depend on each other to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Activities like this help us understand something important early in our journey:
Teamwork is not just a skill in aviation, it is a necessity.
As a BSc Aviation Management and Operations student, moments like this continue to shape how I see the industry and the responsibility that comes with being part of it.

Behind those posts you just view and pass, you might ask yourself, why do I love that guy so much?
Let me explain.
That guy has been part of my success story. I met him in JSS3, and since then we’ve been more than friends we’ve been brothers.
For over 15 years, he has been my support system and family. We’ve been through thick and thin, always standing by each other. Yes, we’ve even fought about money before, but we always reconcile because money can never buy or destroy the friendship we’ve built.
We’ve seen each other grow. We’ve witnessed each other’s struggles, wins, and lessons. Through the good days and the hard days, he has always been someone I could count on.
Not just a friend, but someone who truly became family.
Fifteen years of friendship is not something small. It means loyalty, understanding, forgiveness, and memories that can never be replaced.
Today I celebrate not just your birthday, but the kind of person you are and the journey we’ve shared.
Happy Birthday, Chris Nation.
May life keep opening bigger doors for you.
Grateful for the brotherhood we share. 🎉🤝
Happy Birthday, Chris Nation.
I love you, bro. 🎉🤝❤️
What Aviation Taught Me About Responsibility?
Before studying aviation, I used to think flying was mostly about pilots and airplanes.
But aviation quickly teaches you something deeper.
It teaches responsibility.
In aviation, small mistakes can have big consequences.
That’s why every role in the industry matters.
From ground operations to maintenance, air traffic control, dispatch, and airline management every decision contributes to safety and efficiency.
As an Aviation Management student, one lesson stands out clearly:
Aviation is not just an industry.
It is a system built on discipline, precision, and teamwork.
Every professional in aviation is responsible not only for their task, but for the safety of hundreds of passengers and the reliability of the entire operation.
This is what makes aviation unique.
It is an industry where professionalism is not optional it is essential.

At school, I was always among the best doing students in my class.
But when I started thinking about the professional world, especially in aviation, I realized something important.
High grades alone don’t automatically translate into real-world success.
In school, the path is clear: study hard, pass exams, get good grades, and receive recognition. But in the real world, especially in industries like aviation, the rules change.
Suddenly, it’s not just about what you know.
It’s about what you can actually do.
Many of us were trained to chase credentials degrees, titles, and perfect GPAs. These are important, but they are not the final destination. They are only the foundation.
The real test begins after graduation.
In aviation and many other industries, what truly drives your career forward is not just your CV or academic results.
It comes down to three things:
• A degree shows what you studied.
• Skills show what you have practiced.
• Results show what you have mastered.
In high-stakes environments like aviation, execution always matters more than appearance.
I have seen people with impressive resumes struggle in real situations, while others who quietly built practical skills became the most valuable members of the team.
So if you ever feel behind because you don’t yet have the “perfect” credentials, remember this:
Ask yourself instead:
What real problems can I solve?
What tools and systems do I know how to use?
What have I built or practiced not just studied?
The people who truly grow in their careers are not always the ones who look the best on paper.
They are the ones who can deliver when it matters.
As a BSc Aviation Management and Operations student, I am focusing not only on learning the theory but also on developing practical skills, communication, and industry knowledge that will help me contribute meaningfully to the aviation sector.
If you are quietly improving yourself behind the scenes, you are not behind.
You are building momentum.
