Big Kitty’s natural and disarming charm allows him to enter your consciousness through the side door.  Upon first glance a mere singer-songwriter, he then seems to distort the continuum of space and time, presenting a reality “whose strange, secret world of nature involves a bevy of odd organisms including singing ferns, winged insects with human faces and a giant mouse named Jesus […] a knack for music-driven storytelling with vivid dreamworld scenarios that bloom in unusual ways from the physical world as we know it.”  (Ernie Paik, Chattanooga Pulse)  Big Kitty will leave you joyfully standing beside yourself.

Another week of magical mountain music coming up this week at @zadiesmarket ! We have one very special show for you this week. This Thursday, we are pleased to present two of Marshall's own, Alec Stanley's innerbeing and Derek Clatterbuck's @oilderek . They are both two of the region's finest songwriters and hardest workers. Both of them, natives of the southeast (GA and VA, respectively), rambled west for a time, and returned to the southeast, landing in Madison County. They are both exemplars of the unique music scene here with a strong focus on sonic exploration and good songs. Alec has played in, recorded, and produced many bands in Athens, GA before relocating to Marshall, where he now continues all of those pursuits while farming and getting his homestead up and running. He is a true sonic explorer and a thoughtful and inquisitive songwriter, with songs that cut straight to your core. Derek writes expansive folk songs with a cosmic twist. He has toured the country with his music and earned the ear of many of the best modern songwriters out there. When Derek sings, people listen. He can also expertly fell, heal, or otherwise manage any tree as an ISA-certified arborist. A friend to all, we think of him as one of Marshall's mascots. We'll be back with more next week. Upcomming early farm show! Join us Tuesday, April 9th, 6pm at Fiddler's Green in Marshall. Got some sweet & talented people performing! Bonus Cranky show with @primrosecoke Parking details and directions will be posted in stories closer to the show, but basically, your GPS will take you about 200 meters too far up the road. Turn left at the farm stand and gravel road. Park nose in towards the creek or veggie beds. Pack the cars in tight and plz carpool, parking is limited! We have some spots for camping if you don't wanna drive home, just set up your spot before dark :] There's a composting toilet but feel free to pee outside as long as it's not on anything important. Byob, leave doggos at home, please! It's a weeknight show, so kindly get the hell out by midnight latest, we got farmin' to do 🫶
