i’ve never seen baby sea turtles on a beach…
we had a short but eventful evening witnessing @ebsp.elc check on loggerhead sea turtle nests.
these nests have shown signs of hat hatching the night before and their team is checking to see how many eggs they find… or in this case a handful of babies who haven’t yet made it out! they found even more that they decided to cover them up to let them make it out on their own.
we got to witness four little ones make a trip to the ocean!
missing amelia today 🪩 it’s been 17 years
these photos are from new year’s eve 2007- ringing in 2008 with slick rick (what a night!)
as much as social media these days can feel cringy with presentation - i’m so glad that facebook still holds some of these incredible memories as a time capsule captured on our shitty digital cameras💛📷
So happy to reveal my new public art commission on view permanently at Rhode Island College’s Horace Mann Hall. I created three artworks that were hand printed using intaglio, screen print and hot foil stamping. The images were photographed at high resolution and sublimated onto aluminum by Blazing Editions in East Greenwich, Rhode Island.
Commissioned by the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts and Rhode Island College through the Allocation for Art for Public Facilities Act! Photographs Courtesy of the artist and Rue Sakayama Photography.
Thank you to @ohrue 📸

a few things we found fascinating and beautiful in virgin gorda, bvi
1, 2 this seed, fruit, unsure of what it is! do you know?
3 humongous hermit crabs that would startle and roll in front of you
4 this beautiful American Kestrel. it was laying in the road like this. we thought it was dead so we stopped and got out to move it to the brush. but when i gently scooped it up its eyes popped open and its head turned back around! it wobbled to its feet. and we placed it away from car tires. what a beautiful bird.
5 dusk. on windy roads.
