Join us next week for the third installment of our film screening series. On Thursday, March 19, at Alias Coffee in Albany, we'll explore the early roots of electronic music and the groundbreaking women that shaped it. “Sisters with Transistors” is the remarkable story of electronic music's female pioneers, composers who embraced machines and their liberating technologies to utterly transform how we produce and listen to music today. The widely celebrated film maps the history of electronic music through the visionary women whose radical experimentations with machines redefined the boundaries of music, including Clara Rockmore, Daphne Oram, Bebe Barron, Pauline Oliveros, Delia Derbyshire, Maryanne Amacher, Eliane Radigue, Suzanne Ciani, and Laurie Spiegel. This community-centered night begins at 6:30 pm and features music selections from Circe (@lenorajayne ) before and after the screening; and we welcome open discussion about the past, present, and future of electronic music and the OHM project. Alias Coffee will be open throughout the evening for drinks and light refreshments. Popcorn will also be available for a suggested donation, give what you’d like. We look forward to watching, listening, and celebrating the culture of electronic music together. Flyer: @designbyraido

Our second movie screening event at @aliascoffeeny on 2/18 was a vibe! Thank you to everyone who came out for an evening of community in downtown Albany. It was great to gather and hear the different personal stories evoked by the movie, Drum & Bass: The Movement. OHM is dedicated to advancing electronic art and music culture in the NY Capital Region. OHM was founded to address a clear and growing gap in Albany, and the greater Capital Region: the lack of viable, accessible, inclusive, and artist-driven spaces for music, arts, and community gathering, particularly within the electronic music and digital arts ecosystem. We are committed to providing a cutting-edge, multi-disciplinary venue that acts as a creative hub and community space for residents and visitors. You can support OHM’s mission and programming through a donation to our GoFundMe (link in bio). We are looking forward to gathering with you again soon. Be on the lookout for more info about the next installment of our movie series, which will take place 3/19 at Alias Coffee in Albany.

In two weeks we welcome you back for the second installment of our documentary screening series. On Wednesday, February 18, at Alias Coffee in Albany, we'll explore the roots of Drum and Bass and its rapid evolution from the mid '90s to 2016 with a screening of Drum and Bass: The Movement. The film traces how a UK underground club culture grew into a global force, shaping pop music, video games, and beyond; and why DnB has always been more than a genre. It was a lifestyle, with its own fashion, language, and attitude, deeply rooted in multiculturalism and shared club experiences. This community-centered night begins at 6:30 pm and features music selections from the OHM DJs before and after the screening, open discussion, and conversation about the past, present, and future of underground electronic music and the OHM project. Popcorn will be available for purchase, and Alias Coffee will be open throughout the evening for drinks and light refreshments. We look forward to watching, listening, and celebrating the culture together. Flyer: @designbyraido

We’re still buzzing from our first event and overflowing with gratitude. To everyone who came out, danced, and contributed their beautiful energy, thank you. As a brand new nonprofit and event curator, we were blown away by the warmth and support. Seeing both familiar and new faces on the dancefloor, feeling that shared joy, and hearing your kind words made the night incredibly special. It was everything we hoped for and more and we couldn’t have done it without everyone who showed up to see what OHM is all about! Huge shoutout to Rome and Nicole Thrasher for capturing the essence of the night so beautifully. Their video perfectly reflected the vibe, and we’re so grateful for their time, talent, and generosity. If you ever need top-tier photo/video work, they’re as solid as they come! Thank you to our amazing security team for keeping the energy protected and grounded, and to Anika and Ana for absolutely holding it down at the raffle booth with such positivity and warmth. Endless thanks to our lighting team—David Robb (@sherwood.dub ), Ted McNeil, Zach Pennachi, and our own Jackson Orzel—for creating an immersive visual experience. Watching people’s faces light up in awe was a true highlight. Big love to the artists who added their unique touch: Lolo & @notbobbydiesel with their spray paint artistry, & @artofviola and @ryanvincentsauger for contributing their craft and creativity to the space. Massive gratitude to PS11 for an incredible, hard-hitting headlining set. Your music, energy, and belief in this project made a huge impact, we were honored to have you on and off the dancefloor. And of course, deep appreciation to our OHM team DJs: @electronicmeanderings and @raidosounds for setting the tone with warmup sets, @thefrontroomsessions for going deep with an unexpected three-hour marathon, and Raido again for closing the night with palpable energy. We truly can’t express our thanks enough to every single person who showed up and shared their time, presence, and energy. You helped make our first event not just possible, but unforgettable. Keep an eye out for more photos and future updates. We can’t wait to do it all again soon. Music: Chiron- @ps_eleven
