This Saturday in Seattle, we'll be at @shortrunseattle the small press & self-published comics festival in a new location!
We're excited to host @daveortegadraws & @cocolarolo at our table, B:18 (which will also be staffed by @ohboycomics )! We'll have the books by Dave & Coco that we published, their self-published comics, as well as DEBUTS from Coco and Dave!!
Join us on July 12th 7-9PM for the release of Neil Brideau’s new zine, Sally’s Mean Bloodstream Visits Miami, FL, published by EXILE Projects and hosted at Sweat Records. This event will bring together a dynamic gathering with readings by Neil Brideau, Pigeonomics, Chika Pondexter, and Miriam Rae-Silver, accompanied by tunes from Sweat Records and pizza. Come for a night of comics, readings, and celebration of this free zine release!
I'm really honored to be included in Laneha House's celebration of Labor History Month, "Comic Culture: A Collective Effort." Lawrence & Breena interviewed members of the comics community about the work we do.
It can be easy—especially right now with questions around Silver Sprocket's royalties to artists, and Alex Graham's toxic takes on "mediocre comics"—to feel bad about the state of our comics ecosystem, and there is a lot of work to do to make our community more sustainable.
But Breena and Lawrence are so good at highlighting and promoting what's good in our community, through the Kinnard Awards, and their Open Mic comics, the Baylies, and on and on. I love that they took the time to talk to folks about what they do, and it really means a lot that they'd ask me to talk about what I do with Radiator Comics.
Next weekend I'll be tabling with my own comics and select titles from @radiator_comics ' catalog at @spfftl !
This is one of my favorite shows, where zine and print cultures collide & the small press community in South Florida shows up!
I had the honor of drawing this year's show artwork. See you next weekend!
This Saturday I'll be at Adventure-Leggers from @bookleggerslibrary , leading a drop-in comics activity called IT HAPPENED ON HALLOWEEN!
11am - 5pm, Ages 18 & under (parents allowed)! RSVP through Bookleggers' Instagram page.
Come draw strange, goofy, spooky comics about Halloween with me!
I’m always so overwhelmed by the community, ideas, and fun I experience at @cartooncrossroads ! This year’s pilgrimage to the @cartoonlibrary was so magical, and I can’t express how perfect a weekend it was. From seeing too many friends to mention, to sharing a hostel with 19 other cartoonists, to watching some breathtaking animation, to soaking up so much information during hours and hours and hours of programming, to cheering on cartoonists as the organizers present awards! If you love comics start planning for CXC 2025.
