Looking back, 2016 was seriously one of my best years! I was newly married and pushing hard on all fronts creatively. I worked on multiple large-scale interior design projects, 2 painting commissions, and successfully launched the Ographr app! I'm beyond grateful for this year because it paved the way for so many fantastic friendships, experiences, adventures, and memories. If 2026 turns out half as good as 2016, I'll take it!

Magic maker!
Feeling the holiday craze, but leaning in and riding the wave. Cards have not been sent. All the gifts aren't ordered. Our house is a wreck and the to do list is miles long, BUT not feeling stressed, because there are too many memories to be made, and too much joy to be savored. Deep breath's #magicmakers! The beauty is not in a perfectly decorated tree or even in piles of gifts. The magic is in the moments. Giggling when the gingerbread house falls to pieces, writing those letters to Santa, then nibbling on your own cookies. Gathering with family and friends. Still taking the family photos even though you will likely not send the cards and posing for at least one photo all by yourself in your holiday party dress in case no one remembers to take your picture as you drag your ass from party to party ❤️ Feeling the craze, and still smiling!

It’s a winter woodland dream to work with @WorldMarket #WorldMarketSpokesperson on creating a tablescape with their new Pier Place Collection. For me it was all about finding ways to combine the sophisticated elements like the beaded placemats and mercury glass candle stick holders with the whimsy wooden gnome houses, the branches, garland and rustic lanterns. There’s 3 practices that I follow anytime I create a tablescape--

Lighting plays a huge role in setting the tone of the space. An easy way to do this is using twinkle lights the way I weaved them through the branches down the center of the table. For statement lighting these candle holders lined in silver glass provide a reflective glow and you can add elements of color and style depending on the choice of candle you use. How obsessed are you with the twisted rope candlesticks?

Adding different textures to the table brings visual interest and harmony. Little details like the shape of the coupe glasses and the beaded placemats brings dimension.

Unexpected elements make this table more playful and less stuffy. I did that with the nutcracker ornaments on each napkin and by adding the green pine placemat to the heads of the table. The gnome houses also bring in a little whimsy.
