Was honored to assist the great @kadavien_ with a beautiful commissioned mural located at my Alma mater @nsula for their new performance building. It’s one of the many projects designed throughout the entire building! Definitely a phenomenal sight to see! Art can truly change the world!
Viewing art as a patron has its benefits. One that kept me aloof in the @mfahouston was a thought @leahhopson._ gave me while we explored. Yes, we view art in its present form, in a gallery where everyone profits from it being there. But ask yourself “Where was this art in its beginning stages of existence?” “Do you think its creator knew of its future impact?”. We visited the Frida Kahlo exhibit. The fact that she was in pain and strife for majority of her existence but still managed to create such an impact is proof that life is indeed what you make it. Peace to her for not letting life make her small, she was indeed… Big Kahlo, not the little one. That’s fiya.
