In 2002, I was involved in a spree of robberies which led to my arrest. My charges were 3 counts of armed robbery and 1 count of kidnapping. I was sentenced to 10 years, of which I had to serve 4 years incarcerated and 6 years on probation. My journey through the jail system started in the Department of Juvenile Justice and a few days after my 17th birthday I was shipped off to Lee State Prison (one of the most dangerous prisons). After serving two years, I was transferred to Hancock State Prison. I was there only a few weeks when my eyes were opened to the Truth of Jesus. A minister came and preached about God raising Lazarus from the dead. The preacher spoke about his testimony of encountering God and repenting of his sins, asking Jesus to come into his life. In that moment, I had an unforgettable experience where I heard the Lord saying that He could raise me up from the dead. I asked Christ Jesus to come into my life at that moment and I haven’t been the same since.
I was later released from prison. Since then, the Lord has opened doors for me to share my testimony, rap, and preach about God’s grace, truth, love, mercy, and forgiveness…
Miraculously in 2018, I was hired as a Juvenile Correctional Officer at the same facility I was incarcerated. In a few years, I was promoted through the ranks from Cadet to Lieutenant. I now serve as a Music Teacher inside of multiple secure facilities. I am helping youth learn to operate recording equipment and express themselves (their stories, trauma, etc.) in a positive way.
Proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ is one of my greatest passions. The Lord has opened many doors for me to testify of His goodness inside and outside of prisons, churches, neighborhoods, multiple states/cities.
