Sometimes the best shots are the ones you don’t plan. Letting moments happen naturally and catching the magic as it unfolds is arguably the best part of what we do. Just go with the flow and see what you get!
We have the unique opportunity to really see both sides of the coin since both of us shoot photo and video. And it’s beyond important to communicate with your fellow photo / video vendor to make sure yall are on the same page and getting what you both need. Often I’m (@heyitschasedaley ) working with another photo company as the videographer for the day so I have to have these convos often about being mindful of how much unnecessary talking is happening during important moments because of how much I rely on the audio for my films. When im hired as the photo and video team I’m able to easily control the situation a whole lot more. The company @aaronyabes owns (@fjmstudio ) is often the sole company hired for a wedding so they already know how each person shoots and what they need from each other to provide the best product for their clients.
Having these convos ahead of the wedding with the vendor team and the couple is the best way to start off. Some couples love being overly directed and posed while others like a more hands off approach. It’s up to you to decide beforehand which best resonates with your style and how you approach your craft.
