Hey, we’re Arif & Odessa! - (re)introduction
✌️We’ve been traveling together for about two years now and each had an own travel account (Odessas.odyssey & Arif.adventures). But we realised that we want to share this journey together. So from now on: one account, two perspectives.
✨Our way of traveling is all about balance. Between low-budget and the occasional splurge, adventurous and relaxing, hidden gems and iconic hotspots. Sometimes we plan every detail, other times we just see where we end up.
📸We want to share our take on travel. Different cultures and experiences through our eyes. And of course, the food. From street snacks to local comfort food, it’s all part of our adventure.
✈️Why @offwewent2 ? Because we’re always heading somewhere, together.
💻We both work alongside our travels. We hope this space inspires anyone who wants to travel more without needing to quit their job or change their whole life.

From first lift to last run, we had some unforgettable days in the French Alps.

“Hey, we’re going snowboarding with our family in two weeks…How funny would it be if we show up knowing how to snowboard all of a sudden?”
That’s basically how it al started. We booked a try out lesson and after that we were immediately hooked. Bought our own gear (yes, after just one tryout), signed up for a 3-week course and got a subscription to the local indoor ski slope. We found our own small POC on the slopes community and even booked our first winter sports trip with them!
Now that we’ve hit AlpineCenter Bottrop, we can’t wait to hit the French Alps 🏂

We spotted a big male triggerfish a few seconds earlier, usually just a sign to keep moving.
Then she appeared. Right behind us. Out of nowhere. Odessa instinctively placed her GoPro between them like a tiny shield and swam away horizontally, making sure not to move up even an inch.
But this one wasn’t following the rules. She kept coming! That’s when the panic hit. 😅 At this point the dive guides stepped in, and we backed off even further.
And just so you know, Odessa has done two shark dives before. But this? This was one of her actual worst nightmares.

💡 Dive Tip: Triggerfish defend their nests in an upward-facing cone so escape horizontally, not vertically. Stay calm, keep your eyes on them, and don’t get too close during nesting season. (We didn’t check if it was nesting season 🤦)

Festival Op de Ring had zoveel meer te bieden dan Audio Obscura en Kris Kross Amsterdam. Wij genoten het meeste van alle activiteiten en random dingen die georganiseerd waren op de ring. Dat stukje voelde pas echt alsof je een verjaardag met z’n allen vierde. Dát was pas écht uniek.

As part of Amsterdam’s 750th anniversary, the city hosted Festival Op de Ring. An once-in-a-lifetime event where a section of the A10 ring road (normally one of the busiest highways around the city) was transformed into a festival (highly criticised). Something unlike anything Amsterdam has seen before.
Festival Op de Ring had so much more to offer than just the bigger stages like Audio Obscura and Kris Kross Amsterdam. What we enjoyed the most were all the activities and random things that were organized on the ring. That part really felt like celebrating a birthday together. That was truly unique.

When we heard about the festival on the highway of Amsterdam, we weren’t even sure if we would still be living in Amsterdam due to the housing crisis. And today we were celebrating the city’s 750st birthday 🎉
