Born in Jamaica, 🇯🇲 I came to New York after college carrying ambition, innocence, and the quiet hope that this city might change my life. And it did!!!
New York became more than a place… 🗽it became the backdrop of my becoming. These streets witnessed every version of me before the glow-up: the uncertainty, the sacrifices, the lonely nights, the hustle, the heartbreak, the prayers whispered silently between subway rides and long days chasing purpose.
Somewhere between the bodegas, the city noise, survival mode, and impossible dreams, I found my direction. I found my resilience. I found myself.
So today, standing here at 45 in sequins and gold heels beside the same kind of grit that once shaped me, this feels bigger than a birthday. It feels like a love letter to the woman who kept going when she had every reason not to.

Watching so many people recreate this look from the MET Gala has been one of the most surreal and heartwarming experiences of my life. To see the artistry, love, detail, and energy poured into every recreation… truly overwhelming in the best way.
What started as a vision between a team of incredibly talented people became something so much bigger than us. Seeing it inspire creativity across the world is something I’ll never forget.
