It’s 2025 and I think it’s time to reintroduce myself ☺️
I’m Rasheedat Balogun, though most of you know me as Arrbee (pronounced RB). I was born in Lagos but raised in Abuja. I’m an introvert (INFP if you’re into personality types) who loves pink and has a toxic relationship with matching colors. I’m 23 but an old soul who thrives on nostalgia and comedies. Unpopular opinion: I firmly believe shawarma isn’t a snack, it’s a meal.
Culture fascinates me, and I’m obsessed with learning about traditions and religions. I am a writer and my first poetry collection, Storms & Calms, is so dear to my heart and is based on my mental health struggles. My journey into mental health advocacy began at 16 and by 17, I was volunteering as a Mental Health First Aider. Today, I channel my passion through writing, speaking, filmmaking and creating content that sheds light on mental health because I believe that everyone deserves access to mental health education.
Fun fact: I was once a sports newscaster for NTA Abuja and Kwasu Fm!
Contrary to popular belief, I’m not a therapist or a psychologist, even though I have an associate degree in psychology, so let’s clear that up! I also have a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Mass Communication and a not-so-secret goal of earning a PhD someday. I am learning to stay alive and learning to put my mental health first.
This space is for sharing my passion and this year, you can expect more mental health content, a documentary or more, another poetry collection, new content series, poetry readings, amongst other things In sha Allah.
Thank you for being here, it means the world to me. Let's continue to grow and evolve together. If you are new here kindly check out my poetry collection and documentary through the link in my bio.
Feel free to ask questions or share a fun fact about yourself 🤗
My debut book, Storms & Calms: A Collection of Mental Health Poetry is still available in Paperback format @rovingheights and Ebook format on Selar. Also available on Amazon and Google play books. Link in my bio🌊

Alhamdulillah for 25 years of life. The girl who never thought she’d make it past 20 is grateful to be here☺️
And yes I share a birthday with my debut book.
Storms & Calms turns 2 today! 🌊
Thank you to everyone who has bought, read, reviewed, critiqued and appreciated my debut book. Special shoutout to those who allowed me to autograph their copy (I still cringe whenever I see my autograph 😅). Becoming an author was a lifelong dream I never truly believed was achievable but I did it, and that makes me proud of myself even on my darkest days. I still deal with imposter syndrome, and sometimes I can’t quite believe that people actually read my book.
Fun facts:
• I have still not been able to see my book at the bookstore, even though it has been there since it was published.
• I completed my book after going for therapy.
• I self published Storms & Calms.
I am still new to being an author, but I hope to become an even better one with my next book.
And speaking of my next book… I am pleased to share that I am writing another poetry collection. I pray for the strength, health, inspiration and creativity to bring it to life. I am so excited and can’t wait to share more details.
This post is dedicated to everyone who has in one way or the other contributed to the success of Storms & Calms. Thank you for being part of this journey.
Storms & Calms is still available in both paperback and ebook. And if you read it, please share your thoughts with me.
Last month, I had the opportunity to speak with the resilient women at the Durumi IDP Camp as the mental health support partner for the Healing and Empowerment Project under the UN SDSN FCT Advocate Initiative.
I don’t speak Hausa so I worked with an amazing interpreter, and the feedback at the end of the session made every moment worth it ☺️
#mentalhealth
I have spent the past months breaking mental health into simple, everyday language, one word at a time. Today marks 150 mental health terms shared, explained and made easier to understand. This little win means a lot to me. Thank you for reading, learning, sharing, engaging and supporting this journey to make mental health education accessible for everyone.
There’s still so much to unpack and I am grateful to keep doing it with you. Mental Health Lingo has come to stay. I can’t wait to show you what’s next, and if you have ideas or suggestions, my door is open.

I finally tried archery and I love it. I have been interested in archery since I watched Brave as a child and it has been on my bucketlist since then.
Will I be doing this again? Yes!

Have you tried archery before?
