DESCRIPTION:
The Exhibition Center is embedded in the hillside topography. Its façade, reminiscent of vernacular architecture, provides protection against potential avalanches and landslides. There are two distinct zones: a lower entry that contains the ticketing, café, and administrative areas, and an upper volume composed of a double-height gallery suffused with natural light.

DESCRIPTION:
1:1 Facade Mockup for the Exhibition Centre in Astruptunet, Norway. The architecture is a minor protagonist in a narrative of the confluence of deeply cut valleys, tumbling hills, and bottomless fjords. Time is marked by the traces of an ongoing glacial process and the maintenance of traditional cultural values.

Content for the Astupunet Visitor Centre is being documented for an upcoming catalogue on the Norwegian artist, Nikolai Astrup.

DESCRIPTION:
Design elements were sampled from Astrup’s home, vernacular architecture, landscape infrastructure, and avalanche distribution dams. Programmatic spaces, retaining walls, and the water collection system were arranged within the tapered form.

DESCRIPTION:
Through the iris-shaped window, raindrops can be seen falling from the slate-grey sky. They tap the verdant landscape and brush the exposed bedrock. Upon contact, an ozonic scent fills the air.

After an extended hiatus, we return. The loading dock doors of the OISO Archive open like the mouth of a giant as it yawns awake after years of slumber. Content from several new works is currently being uncrated, unpacked, and inventoried. Please keep an eye out for future updates.
The signage just arrived, one component closer to gettting our exhibit set up. It will be nice to show this at home after so long.
